  1. Wireless to Router, Ethernet to PC .. ?

    So, my Setup:

Router in the office (SKY TV's home hub)

PC and XBOX ONE in the bedroom.

Both the PC and XBOX are currently using Wireless... but my tiny estate has lots of talk on all wireless channels, so sometimes I find it's hopped channels depending on who and how many in the area are using wifi. Simply put, when I would use it, its too
weak for high bandwidth activites like streaming from xbox to pc, or for music,. the reverse.

there is an option of daisy chaining though:

XBOX -ethernet> PC -wireless> Router,,, but that means I need my PC on to be online with the xbox... aaaand why repeat steps in and out of that setup on the occasions I dont want to use my pc and later want to record something,

So, quick question before I go buy a crossover cable (because since when does hardware that supports using simple patch cat5 cable in crossover mode actually work) can i still use wireless for internet, even though the ethernet would be plugged in for streaming
to PC? ... and just a thought: might want that feature. I know that the 360 didn't, since it hid the wireless options when it detected ethernet plugged in.

    :)

How to set up a router to play on Live wirelessly?

You should connect your modem directly to your new router. Then your PC is connected to the router with an Ethernet cable. Your Xbox will connect to your new router via wireless.

Just take the Ethernet cable that goes from your modem to your PC and plug it into the back of the router, into the "Internet" port; not one of the four LAN ports. You will need an additional Ethernet cable to reach from one of the four LAN ports on the
back of the router to your PC.

Once your PC is connected to the router, you will need to use it to configure the wireless settings on your router. Once those are enabled and setup with a password, you can connect your Xbox via wireless

does ethernet xbox one download faster?

The reason your NAT is open wired, vs moderate or strict over wifi, is because router firewalls usually only work via wifi. Over wired, it just acts as an ethernet switch.

If I had the option, I would go wired, but I don't. My Router and PC are wireless AC, which is loads faster. I'm not sure if it's faster over ethernet or not, but I'm sure it's a lot more stable. When I had wireless N, I would have hit detection problems, but not anymore.
Xbox One should have shipped with wireless AC. Would have been nice.

Xbox Disconnects using Media Center if paused or at the menu screen for 90-120 seconds

If the PC and the X360 console are not connected in the same manner, this may account for the issue you are experiencing. Is the PC wireless? If so, can you connect it with another Ethernet cable to the same router as the X360?

    Can't Connect to Xbox Live

Other than the ethernet port on the xbox being faulty it could also be the ethernet cable so I would recommend testing the console with a second ethernet cable. Also it could be the router's ethernet port so try changing the port you are using for the xbox
    on your router.

If you have checked the console with another cable and verified the router is not faulty by connecting a pc to the router and connecting to the internet then the xbox ethernet port is unfortunately the fault.

If your console is out of warranty you should look into purchasing an xbox 360 wireless adapter.cheaper than a repair.

About to stop using XBOX services if I don't get help.

"First, try connecting to your Xbox 360 to your router with an ethernet cable. If the disconnects stop happening, then your problem may be with the wireless router"

That's impossible. There's no way the PS3, the PC, and the iPhone can run on the wifi but not the xbox.
