    so im trying to use an ethernet cable to lan both my xbox's. One xbox is still connected via wi fi but my other one wont connect because it has the cable plugged in.. anyone know why one is working and the other isnt?

    Almost 20 hours and still installing a 9 GB update...

    are you on wifi or lan? I hook up to lan when downloading games. I think it helps go by quicker than being on wifi.

    Wifi Password incorrect.

    It still won't connect to wifi. I just brought my router and hooked it up via lan cable. It works that way. Wired connections are better anyway.

    What was your original reason for choosing xbox?

    Halo. That hooked my on the original Xbox. Setting up 4 TVs with 4 systems in a living room and gaming all night with 12 - 16 friends is an incredible memory. Sure we did computer LANs but now to do a Halo LAN was another great time.

    May I suggest a minor adjustment, to make your setup correspond to how you usually deploy router and switch into a network.

    May I also suggest that, for reference, you post up the make and model of your wireless router.

    Connect, with a Cat5e or Cat6 cable, from the LAN port on your cable modem and into the WAN port on your wireless router.

    Connect from one of the LAN ports on your wireless router to your switch (Linksys SE1500). Since the SE1500 only support speeds up to 100 Mbit/s, it's preferable to use Cat5e. That is, if you haven't already connected your devices with Cat6.

    You can now make the choice, where to connect your console (wired), with two options. Either trough the switch, or directly wired into your wireless router.

    Let me know how that goes and we'll work from there.
