Wireless Problems

Hi there,

i got my xbox 360 today. I created an account and tried to connect to my wireless router.

That's where the problems started. The wireless interface is working, i check first.

When i create a mobile hotspot with my android phone i get connected in seconds an can use all the xbox live stuff.

But if i try to connect to my router i allways get errors. The wpa2 key is right i checked it 20 times changed it, and so on.

I have my tv, my phone, notebook and other stuff connected in the living room, everything works but the xbox doesn't.

I tried to enter IP adress configuration manually, but same result ... no connection. The signal is btw very good i have 4 of 4 columns.

Can anybody help me out with that ?

WIRELESS PROBLEMS

I will reset to default and see what happens,as for checking these logs where would i find this? (sorry im a proper donut) and if all this stays the same i ll bring an xbox downstairs and try the hardwire option.Thanks

 

Problem solved!

I think Xbox can't handle WPA/WPA2 mixed mode, there might be some problems with the AES encryption and WPA2.

Thread can be closed.

 

If you're still around, could you post up the make and model of your router.

State whether you use the external wireless network adapter, or the built-in.

i use a Zyxel NBG4615 wireless router configured as as access point. The xbox has a built in wireless network adapter.

I think the problem is that default encryption for WPA2 is AES and in mixed mode WPA is also encrypted in AES not with TKIP.

 

What version of firmware are you running on your zyXEL NBG4615?

Visit zyXEL website and make sure this device is operating with the latest version of firmware.

 

XBL is down not a problem on you end cant connect here same with my 46 active friends not including the other 40 friends >i think they got hacked would make sense seeing how the server status pae is showing everything up and running !!!

 

@SmudgyRumble48 - If a device can't communicate properly with an AP, or a router, then it's locally related.

 

hi tiadra,

i updated my firmware to BWQ.4 it's from october last year and the current firmware.

Before i had BWQ.0, but that was not the Problem.

 

Xbox didn't get hacked network errors pop up... but yeah some devices have issue connecting to the xbox with some wireless encryption types

 

I installed windows 8 ,xbox and many apps couldnot to get updates .APPS SHOW ME ERROE MESSAGES . XBOX SAIS STORE IS NOT AVAILEBLE ,CALENDER AND OTHER APPS TOO.
