Wireless of Hardwired?

I have Verizon FIOS and get the following numbers: Hardwired I am pulling 58 down and 39 up with a ping of 8. Wireless gives me 20 down and 22 up with a ping of 12. Is it worth the effort to hardwire it with those wireless numbers?

depends on what you're looking to get out of it, will you be downloading a lot of games? are you into competitive games? if so going with the wired connection will give you a little extra bandwidth to help your games download a little faster, and the slightly
lower latency is better for games that require twitch reflexes.

if you're buying all of your games on disc, and are not heavy into competitive games, then wireless is fine, playing most games online only use a small amount of bandwidth.

Good point. I am mostly playing with my 7 year old son so no competitive games at this point and all games are on disk.

I did by the Cat5 cable from Amazon but I will wait until a "rainy day" to run the cable through the drop ceiling down here in the finished basement opposed to jumping right on the task.

When I do get around to running the wire, do I need to change any settings since it was initially set up as wireless or as simple as plugging it in?

Yeah im hardwired in. Always had better experience with hardwire over wireless.
