Wireless lag issues

I have been getting lag spikes for no reason on multiple games. I have never had this problem, I have reset my modem and still receiving this. Any suggestions

I think a lot of the time people that complain about lag issues have people leaching their net and blame everyone else for their lag. If you are 15 ish and use your parents internet you are encountering what I am talking about, also make sure your wireless
is secured.. Yes there are some p2p lag issues as well as the compensation.

Xbox one kinect

I think it's an issue of lag and bandwidth. From a placement point of view, wireless would have been better, but the 'experience' would have suffered for it.

Not all lag is lag switching. Now that everyone has wireless networks lag can be from others in the house hold logging on doing things that eat up bandwidth. Plus lag compensation is still a big issue in the game.

Thats a good point that few people take notice of.

My xbox and computer are wired, but everyone else in the house use wireless devices. If our cordless telephone rings, everyone on wireless gets disconnected temporarily. ... and if somseone answers it they are screwed for the duration of the phonecall.
Microwave ovens are bad too, but with the popularity of wireless devices I wouldnt recommend trying to game with it it too.

It can be an in-game issue or a connection issue. Mostly the person who hosts the game is also the host. So if you are on an Open NAT and the other person isn't, there could be lag. Even if the other person has open and is from Australia or somewhere further
away, there is lag. You could try
http://support.xbox.com to open up your router ports and enable UPNP and tell your friend to do the same. Also playing wired/wireless (especially wireless) could also result for lag.
