Wireless is slow and wired doesn't work at all on Xbox One

Hello all

I've had my Xbox One since March, and it is the slowest device I have connected to my network. Granted, my network speeds aren't phenomenal (avg 5 mbps down and .64 up) but my Xbox One shows that it is only reaching speeds of .80 mpbs down when I click detailed
network statistics. What's also odd is that a wired connection has never worked for it. I plug the ethernet cable in and it just says that my wired connection isn't set up. I know it's not an issue with the cable itself, as I've switched with known working
cables before.

I'm using a crappy Motorola NVG510 router that was given to me by ATT. I've managed to have an open NAT for quite some time, but now that I'm trying to download games (Destiny Beta atm) or even install a game I've purchased on disc, the process takes HOURS.
When I'm in a game (Titanfall usually) I can usually play round after round without lag. Seeing the download speed at < 1 mpbs is quite frustrating though. Could my Xbox One be defective? Or have I *** something up?

:)

Plug and Play-USB not charging/ cable not working

I have 2 controllers. One that is wired, and I have separate controller that is wireless. When I plug in my wireless controller it doesn't turn on, and it makes my other wired controller which is plugged in turn off. The wired one works fine by itself. but
once the wireless one is plugged in it doesnt work. What could be the problem?

You may want to consider buying an inexpensive router (Linksys E1000, E2000, or Netgear WNDR1000, or WNDR2000) to bridge the NVG510.

I have no reason to believe the the Xbox is defective. Feel free to send me a PM if you have any other questions.

P.S. In your case you will want to consider wired for the Xbox as the upload speed is a bit under where I would like to see it. Packetloss in this occasion may cause a larger issue down the road.

Cheers

Randomly disconnect from Xbox Live while playing beta.
Matt, are you also running over a wireless router?
Trust me, I know all about wireless/wired connections, UPNP, NAT, open ports, etc. I'm the network guru among all of my friends and family. I think I've set up around a dozen wireless networks, a handful of wired ones, around 6-7 Xbox Live/wireless connections.
These problems are definitely not on my end. But to answer... I've tried wireless/wired on the Xbox 360 with issues, and wired/wireless on the PS3 with issues. It just flat out doesn't work.

360 slow connection

Seems the same on wired or wireless, though looks like it works fine, except for slow signing in.

Wait. Am I right in reading that your connection works fine wireless, but while wired it's really slow?
