Wireless headset works but Xbox one doesn’t recognize the mic.

Can anyone help me with a headset mic issue? I just bought the Turtle beach stealth 700 for xbox one. I paired it and the Xbox recognized that it was paired. I followed the instructions given. I hear everything and everyone in my party just fine. The audio
is great. I even used it to take phone calls. My mic doesn’t seem to be working or at least doesn’t seem to be recognized by the console according to xbox because no one can hear me and when I go to party or am playing a game it doesn’t have that megaphone
looking symbol next to my gamer tag to indicate that the mic is on. Anyone else have this issue or know of any tricks to fix it? I contacted TUrtle beach support but its the weekend so i haven’t heard back and they sent me an automated reply email with
instructions based on my problem description just until a real person can get back to me but still no mic. I know the mic must work because if I blow into the mic or talk directly into it I can hear it on the ear phones. Not sure why the Xbox isn’t recognizing
the mic though. I also recorded a voice message test as if I was sending it to someone in my party and I played it back so obviously the mic works so there must be something with the console that I’m doing wrong but I don’t know. I’ve had other headsets that
have worked fine. This is my first wireless headset though.

Thank you. Unfortunately Ive tried everything. The console doesn’t have any new updates and its a wireless headset so the controller wouldnt beed to be updated.

Just a quick possible fix! Try going to settings and devices and configuring/updating your device/controller! Hope this helped! Have a good day!

My grandson has pretty much the same issue (except that his Astro A10 headset is wired). The headset speakers and mic work fine (no matter what he connects to; phone, etc.). But the microphone doesn't work -- ONLY with the xbox console -- even after
repeated checks through every setting shown in the console... and checked for updates. Since the mic works with his phone and not with the xbox one, I figure it's got to be a problem somewhere within the console, right? He's pretty much livid about this
whole thing and I really have no clue as to what to try next. Any help would be greatly appreciated here, too. *Thanks for your suggestion also, Voodooworm. He/we have tried updates, unplugging and replugging, rebooting, updating, all to no avail.

It would seem that if the Xbox is switched on with the headset connected it works fine but if the headset is plugged in after start up the mic doesn’t work in game mode.

The "mic" you're referring to is the boom mic that plugs into the headset.

The mic I'm referring to is the chat system that allows one to talk to other players. Normally, that's supported by a wired mic cable that goes from the 360 controller to other headsets. On all other 360 headsets, a cable is required from the base of the
360 controller to the headset for chat. Even the wireless Astro A50 has a mic cable port to go to the 360 controller.

On the Tritton Warhead, that's all done wirelessly, same as the Microsoft Wireless Mic for 360 works. Tritton integrated the wireless mic into the headset base unit so that the headset can be completely wireless - no wired mic cable going to the controller.

It's the wired mic cable that the Tritton Warhead lacks that is the problem. There will be no way for the Warhead's base unit to sync its wireless mic with the Xbox One.

If all you want to do is use the Warhead as a wireless headset without a mic, it will be fine. If you want mic support, it won't.
