Wireless hardware has to be repaired

So, I tried to make my console connect to the internet, but it says the wireless connection hardware has to be repaired. Now, my system is out of warranty, and I want to know how much the repairs will cost. It says I have to pay $115.00 to send it, but
I want to know if there are other fees on top of that.

The issue is more than likely an internal issue with the consoles hardware and the wireless connection piece inside of the console. If you don;t wish to return it, you can inquire with the xbox live tech support about sending the console in to be repaired.

 

Have you tried doing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart
the console. Once it is back up and operational test the results. I have had this resolve a lot of these issues but there are no guarantees. Let me know. Good Luck!!

 

Hopefully the slim has a option to clear the cache, WITHOUT A HARD RESET.......XD, hopefully the sound doesn't cut out all the time on the Bluray player either........Well fingers crossed for wishfull thinking lol

 

Hi before you send the Xbox in try clearing the alternate MAC address.

Settings/ all settings/ network/ advanced settings/ alternate MAC address, select clear then select restart.

That can on occasion kick the network adapter back into action.

If those suggestions are not working then it is probably time to send it in for repairs. OR if possible try running it wired. Personally, I prefer wired but I know sometime circumstance don't lend themselves to that solution.

 

I'm gonna have to send it in, then. My modem is on a different floor from my system, so wired isn't an option.

 

Wired May be an option, there are devices known as homeplugs. They use your regular house wiring system to provide a wired connection if wireless isn't viable. That may be worth considering maybe.

There are various brands and prices range from quite cheap to not so cheap depending on what features you require. I use these myself in a room where the wireless signal isn't great and they work very well indeed.
