wireless display xbox one over wired network

As far as I understood is that as long as you are in the same network you should be able to connect to the xbox one wireless display app on a w10 pc through a wired network. I can't seem to find the xbox in my connect menu. I search for all types of devices
and then it does find it, but not the wireless display app. Have restarted my computer, xbox one and router but no results...

What I am able to do is connect to it through a wireless connection on my w10 laptop and on my android phone.

Does anybody know how to troubleshoot / which settings to check?

    :)

    Hello XBF Crystal P,

unfortunately the compagnion app was already working on my desktop before I started this thread. I did check all the setup mentioned on the page without results :( Just to be sure I also checked all my drivers again(chipset, gfx drivers, sound drivers, wifi
drivers, network drivers and windows update), but everything is up-to-date.

No, my pc is to far from the xbox to connect to wirelessly. I have read that it could be done over a wired connection, as long as it is in the same network (click
    this link
). For me this seems to not be working. I can't find any ways to troubleshoot it, for it seems to just work for everybody reporting on it. I need help on why it is not working for me.

edit: Both the xbox and the pc are connected by wire.

    Xbox one lagging

    Hey there.

So reading over this I think I missed one import question. Is this wired or wireless? If it's wireless plug in a cable to see if it resolved the issue. It's very possible that if you're wireless you're dropping packets. If you're wired, try wireless. You
never did say what the Xbox was saying on the detailed network info. Last, if you have a friend with a good connection try it over there. I just want to see if it's the xbox or your home network. If the problem replicates somewhere else (wired), then it's
could be something with the Xbox.
