    Wireless Display Connection Issue

I have been trying to connect my Microsoft Surface 4 laptop to my Xbox One S so that I can stream to it and it is having issues connecting. I have the wireless display app and Adapter app downloaded on my Xbox and on my laptop I have the display screen open and my laptop sees my Xbox. When I click on it, the screen on my Xbox says that I am connecting to my laptop then it says "couldn't connect". I'm confused as to why it fails to connect with everything recognizing each other. I have windows 11 installed on my laptop. Any suggestions?

    :)

    Wireless Display Connection Issue

Hi and thanks for reaching Microsoft Xbox gamer's community. My name is Josef.

I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft Xbox user like you.

Hope you're doing great today HeckenBread

    Please answer the following questions:

Is this the first time you connect your PC via wireless adapter app?

In case you have another PC, could you try with the other?

Your laptop and Xbox both are connected via wifi? or the Xbox is connected via cable?

Please try this on your laptop:

    Open Settings, click Update and Security and then Windows Update;

    Click Check for Updates;

Click the Download and Install Now option, if available (Install optional updates as well)

Also, check the Microsoft Store for any updates on the Xbox apps and its services and update everything too.

    Then do this:

Step 1: Open the Run window by pressing Windows + R key.

Step 2: Input WSReset.exe in the Run window and click OK.

Step 3: Then a command prompt window will appear. After a few seconds, Windows Store will open.

Finally do this on your Xbox console:

    1. Turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.

    2. Unplug the console's power cable from the console and from the power outlet. Wait 5 minutes.

Important: Be sure to wait at least 5 minutes. This step resets the power supply.

    3. Plug the console power cable back in.

    4. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn it on.

Give it a new try and let me know how it goes, I'll be waiting for your feedback

    Greetings from another Microsoft user

    Wireless Display Connection Issue

I restarted and made sure to look for updates on my laptop, and everything was up to date. I unplugged my Xbox and let it sit for a while. I tried it again and it did the same thing where my Xbox sees my computer and my computer sees my Xbox and will attempt connecting but won't successfully.

Buddy, do you know if your NAT type is open?

You can double check this on both Xbox and PC
Xbox: Open Settings > General > Network config

PC: Open the Xbox Console Companion app > Settings > Network

    ----

We can try isolating even more the issue, could you try share mobile data via wifi Hotspot and connect both Xbox and PC to the same Hotspot and give it a new try?

Repeat disconnections to xbox live when Wireless but not when wired

As a wireless connection is influenced by a lot of external factors there is a higher probability to experience connection issues than on the wired connection. The paket loss max not display this, as this count is calculated on resent pakets. But if there
are short disconnections where the connection terminates totally the paket loss may not display that.

So how is the connection quality displayed on your One?

Try to avoid interferences by removing any other sidi WiFi devices out of the neighborhood of the One, like mobiles, wireless phones or similar. Also check the positioning of the One.

Unable to project PC to Xbox series x using wireless display

    Hello George C.

I have tested the above and had no luck. The closet I get is I connect both PC and Xbox Series X to the same WIFI (with both network cables unplugged) and I can see the XBOX as a wireless display to cast my PC. however, it attempts to connect, and the screen blinks and immediately says disconnected.

I have now been able to connect to the XBOX with my laptop, but still not able to connect through my PC.

My PC is showing as a wireless display capable device in the Drivers command "Wireless Display Supported: Yes (Graphics Driver: Yes, Wi-Fi Driver: Yes)"

I have further uninstalled Norton antivirus from my PC and reverted to windows antivirus.

surely I cannot be the only one with this issue?

I see that this post has the same issue, but the thread is now locked
