Wireless Display app won't install on my Xbox One X

Whenever I try to download the Wireless Display app for my Xbox one X it wont download. It just says Installation Stopped. It's usually tries 3 times before giving up. I've been trying since yesterday.

So far i've tried

Full Shutdown and power cycling

Clearing the MAC address cache

Changing the DNS settings

Rebooting the router

Changing default install location

And also a full factory reset choosing the option to delete everything.

Nothing is working. All other games and apps install fine. It's just this one app. My xbox one X just doesn't want to install it.

I have even tried on my OG xbox One and it installed just fine on that. This makes my think it is an Xbox One X problem rather than a network problem.

My xbox has plenty of free space. 7.4TB to be exact so that isn't the problem

This problem has totally baffled me.

Has anyone got any ideas?

Hi Malacath,

I was able to download the app on an Xbox One S with the public build and I was also just able to download the app on an Xbox One X that is actually enrolled in the Insider program. I'm not entirely sure what is going on here.

I recommend some basic troubleshooting once more. Unplug your network hardware for about 5 minutes to restart it. Then, go ahead and do a

hard reset and power cycle. Hold down the power button on the console for about 10 seconds until it shuts down and then remove the power cable from the Xbox and the power outlet for about 2-3 minutes. Then re-connect and
turn on the Xbox.

Try installing another app from the Store and once it completes, download the Wireless Display app immediately after. Another thing to try is un-install any app, then re-install another app, and then install the desired app.

Yes it's just this app.

I'm on the public dashboard build and I downloaded the insider app to double check.

Neither of my consoles are in the insider program.

Both consoles used to be in the insider a while ago but they are not any more.

I just can't understand why this app still wont download even after factory resetting.

I've tried all that. I've even tried logging in using a different xbox profile.

Nothing I do will get the app to install on my Xbox One X.

I just don't understand why the app will download just fine on my OG Xbox One but totally fail to download on my Xbox One X even after a full factory reset. It's just baffling.

If it wasn't for the fact that it's the only app that wont install I would assume my X is faulty. But all other games and apps I try install fine.

Hello Malacath,

Is this the only app you are having issues with or is it multiple apps? If it is the only one, there may be a bug or something on your console. Personally I just downloaded this app myself. Are you currently enrolled in the insider program?

Yes its the public build everyone who is not an insider gets.

I've done the factory reset about 3 times now and it still wont download.

I've even tried tethering the xbox to my mobile phone to use 4G instead of my broadband and its still the same.
