Wireless Controller Won't Connect with USB

This controller does not support xCloud. These are the controllers you can use.

Official Xbox controllers

Xbox Wireless Controller (Bluetooth or USB connection)

Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 1 (USB connection only)

Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 (Bluetooth or USB connection)

Xbox Adaptive Controller (Bluetooth or USB connection)

The above are correct, the only way to connect a wireless controller is through the 360 wireless USB adapter, otherwise you would have to use a wired Xbox 360 controller. That will also connect without the wireless. The play and charge will not all ow
the USB connection.

1. Do I understand it correctly there're 3 options Wired, Bluetooth and Wireless?

2. If so, which is the preferred e.g., (better than the other) Bluetooth or Wireless, ?

3. I want a USB cable controller to PC option, so when USB connected does it also recharge the controller batteries?

I have a Logitech G700s gaming mouse, when USB cable connected it recharges the mouse batteries is it the same thing?

If the X controller's USB cable is 9' long or close to it, it'll work in front of the PC and in front of the TV where I played Xbox FPS games. But all other games were played from my recliner across the living room, 9' of cable won't work from the PC so
I'd need Bluetooth or wireless.

1. On the new controllers, yes

2. Haven't tried Bluetooth so I wouldn't be sure but they should be the same. Bluetooth won't require an extra add in whereas the wireless connection will.

3. Yeah it will recharge the batteries which connected via USB (may depend on your batteries, I have official battery pack). When using the USB connection it becomes a wired controller and disables the wireless connection.

A long cable will work, don't remember the one that came in the box maybe 6+feet

support.xbox.com/.../wireless-controller-disconnects-frequently-or-cannot-connect. If you have to connect the usb cable to the wireless controller it may be a power issue. Not 100% sure but I think the usb cable only provides power it does not provide a
communication channel. Meaning, even if you connect the wireless with the usb charging cable all the communication is still happening via wireless.
