    Wireless controller rechargeable battery dead

    Hello!

I've bought two Microsoft Xbox 360 Color Accessory Bundles (Controller + Play & Charge Kit) on 13.11.2013. Now rechargeable battery is completely dead and controllers work only with the charging cable connected. As soon as the cable is disconnected controllers
turn off. How long is there a warranty on the rechargeable battery? How can I contact support for this case?

I don't have a console and use controllers with PC so I cannot add controllers to my devices and contact support via devices list.

    Thank you in advance!

    :)

Xbox one controller says it's connected but isn't working

To resolve this issue, determine the faulty component and then replace that component:

    The Xbox One Wireless Controller

To troubleshoot the wireless controller, try using AA batteries, or try a different Xbox One Rechargeable Battery Pack to verify that nothing is wrong with the controller. If the controller works with different batteries, it isn't causing the issue.

The Xbox One Play & Charge cable

To check whether the cable is the problem, try a different Play & Charge cable (or any standard USB to micro-USB cable) to charge the battery. If the battery charges correctly with a different cable, your charge cable is faulty.

    The rechargeable battery

To troubleshoot the rechargeable battery, try the following:

Use a cotton swab and some isopropyl alcohol to clean the four gold contacts on the Xbox One Rechargeable Battery Pack and on the Xbox One Wireless Controller. Then try to charge the battery again.

Try a different Xbox One Rechargeable Battery Pack with the charge cable. If the second battery charges correctly, your original battery is faulty.

If you've had them for that long, I doubt there's any warranty left. Just buy new battery packs.

I just bought my second xbox one wireless controller in the span of two months. Both controllers will show charging when plugged in, but after a while the charge goes dead. I'm pretty sure it's the battery because I switched the battery to my old controller
and it does the same to that one currently. Does anybody know about recalls on batteries or any other solutions.? It's crazy that I buy two controllers back to back and they both have the same issue. These things cost to much money for this.

It all depends on date of manufacturing. Make sure your cables that you're charging them with aren't damaged.

    Hi Eibehenne3

Most retailers will only offer a 12 month warranty on items unless an extra cove is offered, I can however say from experience that batteries or battery packs are generally not included in your standard 12 month warranty as damage to them is generally seen
    as wear and tear.

The battery packs can be bought very cheap off ebay or your local game retailer though.

    Wireless controller rechargeable battery dead

    Hi NJRIPD

Unfortunately once batteries lose their ability to hold charge theres nothing to do other than dispose of them.

Official microsoft xbox control pad battery packs shouldn't experience charging issues after only 2 months though, One thing i would say is that once your batteries are fully charged via the play and charge kit you should unplug it as it is possible to drip
charge fully charged batteries which does damage them and reduce their overall life span very quickly.

It could be possible to contact the retailer directly that you purchased the controllers from as some may depending on date of purchase give a replacement battery pack.
