    Wireless controller is connected to Xbox One, but it doesn't have effect on the TV.


    I ordered a brand new Xbox wireless controller from the Microsoft site itself yesterday and it came today. I lost my old one and haven't played on Xbox One since (1-2 years). The sensors for my Xbox's power button or disc ejection do not work but the rest of it works fine. I power my Xbox on by turning on my controller and pressing down on the bluetooth button until my Xbox turns on and connects. I'm currently stuck on a page where I'm told to download 4 GB worth of storage (Which I have the space for), and the buttons work fine physically but they do not move on the TV. I've connected the controller to a Type-C USB connected to the Xbox One and it still does not work. I've tried reconnecting the controller and still no luck.

    Hi,

    I suspect you're attempting to connect an Xbox 360 wireless controller to your PC using a Play & Charge cable? Effectively making it a wired controller?

    I'm afraid this won't work. Unlike Xbox One/Series X controllers, wireless 360 controllers are always wireless, connecting a Play & Charge simply charges the battery or powers the controller if no battery is present. Unfortunately the cable doesn't send data.

    The only way to connect these controllers to a PC is via an Xbox 360 gaming receiver. The receiver for Xbox one controllers is not compatible.

    Suddenly, My xbox can't connect with HDMI/HDMI-DVI cable.

    Having the same problem here. RT+Y doesn't work, but the HDMI works on my laptop when connected to the tv.

    Seems like the wireless controller doesn't want to connect to the console during boot up, and the boot up lights (Lights spin around the player lights on console) doesn't even happen.

    Just tried reconnecting the wireless controller to the xbox, the xbox and controller flash to show that the connection went through, and the controller just goes back to flashing every 2 seconds.

    Xbox 360 wont turn off, as well as a "phantom" controller continuously appearing

    all controllers have no batteries, it may be sotware issues or something to do with the TV. Not exactly sure why the TV but it seems to have an effect on the xbox. The phantom controller connects instantly. Its creepy.

    Hi, you can't change the frequency of the controller at all.

    There are several factors that can cause interference though, large metallic objects such as a tv stand etc. Mobile devices such as phones and tablets, even your pc can all have some effect.

    This link shows a few things to try if you're having problems with the controller disconnecting randomly etc.
