Wireless Controller faulty wireless hardware?

Hello

So I have this problem with my controller, that it's not connecting anymore. All it does is flashing the lights and everything, even after trying to sync.

I have used this controller for ages, but after I by mistake "dropped" the controller, it seems that something broke, and is now unable to connect at all.

I have tried everything to make it connect, and all of my other controllers are working fine, connects fine and all, but this one seems to have issues regarding the wireless connection.

Is it possible for the wireless hardware in the controller to get distorted/broken?

Playstation 3 Controllers

I haven't bought a PS3 yet, for financial reasons, but it's on my wishlist. Now, I've heard from several people that the PS3 has faulty wireless controllers. Have you found this to be the case, or have you been satisfied with your wireless controllers?

Banned for disconnects!!

Banned for a faulty wireless a controller design and implementation that randomly disconnects?!!!! Not my fault and I'm banned?!!!! check the batteries,sync,updates,etc.?? really???? You suck MS. I am ***. You geniuses give us a wireless-only controller?!!

Indeed the damage caused by that drop might have caused this issue. I suggest you to register your console and ask for a repair of your controller:

BUT... Weirdest thing just happened. I tried disassembling the controller, and tried turning it on without casing, and funny thing is, it connected...

Assembled it again, and is now working fine. Strangest thing.

Is it wired or wireless? If wired then you would have to replace it as it is faulty.

Update the firmware or something else? I updated the firmware but is there something else?

You need to run the Update xbox wireless controller on all controllers you use on the console.

If you are not using a Headset adapter on the controller more than likely the socket on the controller is faulty.

Thanks for sharing this information. If your controller cannot work even on another console - both wired and wireless - I'm pretty sure it got faulty, my friend. I'm sorry about that. You can check some troubleshooting steps on the Xbox website below but it is most likely that they will not work:
