    wireless controller adaptor issues

so ive got the xbox one wireless adapter to use the xbone controller with my pc.

used to work perfectly fine but a couple months ago a little issue popped up where if the controller disconnects, be it through inactivity, battery outage or i just turned it off for a little while, it wont recconnect to the pc until the pc gets a reboot.
when trying to reconnect the controller light flashes twice, stays steady on for around 2 seconds then goes dim before finally shutting off again.

the controller doesnt need re-syncing, my pc drivers are all up to date. nothing us unplugged in the intervening time between play. running on windows 10 pro.

frankly if playstation controllers had native support id just use a DS4 but seeing as i play all my games via the windows platform i figured microsofts controller would be most apt but its a massive pain having to save the game and shut everything down just
to go make a coffee mid gaming session!

anyone else had this problem or know of the solution?

    :)

Xbox wireless adaptor for Window 10 is rubbish

By the time my game loads the controller loses sync to the Xbox wireless adaptor for Windows. The Xbox wireless adaptor for Windows has a solid light on it. When I hold the sync button on the Xbox wireless adaptor for Windows it never blinks. Xbox
wireless adaptor for Windows does not work. Next I unplug the Xbox wireless adaptor for Windows and plug it back in, then the light never turns on again. More junk, rubbish, trash made by Microsoft.

Xbox One April Update is live tonight

This is probably the best part of this update that I like.

    Xbox One Wireless Controller

    Hi,

You can use a standard Bluetooth adaptor. The Microsoft wireless adaptor for Xbox One/Series X|S controllers doesn't use Bluetooth.

If you want standard connectivity then you can use a BT USB dongle (or built in BT if your device has this). The Microsoft adaptor offers more features such as the use of more than one controller, and the usage of your controller's headphone socket while wireless.

Bluetooth adapter for x box controller??

Xbox controllers use the console's own direct wireless connection, they don't use Bluetooth. There is no such adaptor to turn a hard wired controller into a wireless controller on Xbox consoles.

Xbox Wireless Adapter for Win10 PC: No rumble or headset audio support?

    Hey everyone,

Audio worked out of the box for me. A USB Audio Device appeared when I plugged the Stereo Headset adaptor into the controller AND plugged headphones into the adaptor.

This is using a standard Xbox One controller (i.e. not an elite) via the wireless adaptor with v20.24.34.491 drivers.

Disconnected from Xbox Live "sign-in status has changed"

Almost sounds like your USB ports are getting enough power.... so it diconnects the wireless adaptor.

    Things to try:

    1. Try wired connection (this is the best solution)

    2. Try using wireless controllers

    3. Try using the wireless adaptor in a different USB port

Computer accepts Elite Series 2 Controller exists, but doesn't register inputs (nor in Xbox Accessories)

I seem to have finally stumbled onto the problem myself after a week of struggle.

Lurking under the optional updates section of Windows Update was an update for the Microsoft Wireless Adaptor. That was the issue. Updated and that's solved it. No idea why the *adaptor* driver affected the ability to use the controller via wire or Xbox Accessories' ability to recognise the existence of the controller via wire either but never mind. If you've got this issue, that's what the problem is.

Never once thought the Adaptor was the problem because it still functioned fine with the old, regular, Xbox Controller. How I was supposed to know that was the issue, I'll never know.
