Wireless Adapter for Windows 10 causes Lags

Whenever I (Win10 PC) plug in the Wireless Adapter for my Xbox One Pad, I get Lags in Games and even while Browsing.

Checked with LatencyMon, it was the Network Device Process. When I unplugged it, it went back to normal.

For now i can use it with a Cable, but i'd love to be able to play wireless again.

    :)

  2. Having issues connecting Xbox One controller (elite) wirelessly to PC

Thank you for confirming that for us. Just to check, have you been able to work through all the steps for the

    Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows
    as well?

    Thank you!

  4. Wireless Adapter for Windows 10 causes Lags

    Hey there StEygynator,

Have you tried plugging it into other USB ports on the PC Tower? When you say lags, can you elaborate a bit? What games are you trying to play and how are you playing them? For example is this a PC game or a game you're streaming from Xbox One to Windows
    10.

    Let us know!

Yep, Plugged it into all kinds of different Ports (Rear, Front, USB 2.0, USB 3.0 (even USB 1.0, just for the sake of it, which was kinda buggy) and even via a PCIe USB Hub. Always the Same Results.

For example For Honor, Steep, Rocket League, CS:GO and DOOM. So it isn't a Problem with any Engine. I (unfortunately) don't own a Xbox, so it's all just PC Windows 10.

The Lags are like a Stuttering which happens every 1-2 Seconds, like it Freezes a frame for about 0,1 seconds and then goes on normally, without any Framedrops. Also the Audio has weird Crackling and freezes from time to time as well.

LatencyMon said something about ndis.sys having an abnormally high DPC routine Execution Time, which makes real time Playback of Video and Audio impossible and i should check my Network Cards and Drivers.

I Unplugged every Device in that Category and retested, and the only thing that helped was unplugging the Wireless Dongle. Uninstalling the Driver and Plugging it back in after a restart didn't change anything.

But while plugged in via Cable and without a Dongle it's working like a Charm.

    Thanks for the quick response

  6. Thanks for the details,

If you remove any non essential USB devices from the PC leaving only a Mouse, Keyboard and the Wireless Adapter does the issue persist? It sounds like there could be one too many devices plugged in and it's causing some issues, either hardware issues or
perhaps wireless interference. Also, are you in the Windows 10 insider program and using a beta update? Have you been able to try the device on another PC to see if it happens and what happens if you plug the controller in via USB instead of using the adapter?

    Let us know!

Already removed all my Hubs and Microphones / Speakers / Networks Card, Problem persists. As already mentioned, while plugged in directly via USB cable, it works normally without any lags. Wireless Interference shouldn't be a Problem, since i am using Ethernet
for my PC and our Wifi is set to 5GHz Only Mode

Unfortunately i have no other PC running Windows 10 to test it with. I am currently using the normal Windows 10 build with all updates installed.

  8. Wireless Adapter for Windows 10 causes Lags

Thanks, sounds like there could be a hardware issue with the adapter based on those tests. How long have you had it? It's possible it could still be under warranty, our chat/phone teams can take a look at that. You can contact Official Xbox Support through
either the live chat option (if available) or phone team
    HERE.

Ideally we'd want to try another computer to see if the same issue pops up, but if that's not an option It's best to check on the warranty status and possibly replace it.
