Wired Xbox controller not working

Well, yesterday i bought a new wired controller to play in my PC and tryed it on my cousin´s house, i installed the drivers and everything worked fine. The problem is that i tryed to use it in my pc today and i got errors while installing the drivers, i
searched for a solution in the internet but nothing works when i try to install the drivers (also, when i plug it to the PC the guide button flashes once and turns off)

Note: Yes, i tryed to plug the usb in all the ports but nothing works

Note 2: I already uninstalled and re-installed the program and i run it in compatibility mode with Windows 7 but when i click "Finish" at the end of the setup it gives me this error: "Setup cannot continue because an unexpected error has ocurred"

Note 3: I already contacted Xbox support but they told me to go to the Windows support and Windows support only offered me to buy ASSURE

wired controller not working

I got a one wireless and wired controller, and the wired one is not working.

The model number is 010030

I have been using this controller about a year now, and this controller had this problem several times but it was fixed somehow.

but now, this controller isn't working completely.

when I connect it the green light in the middle lights up about a one second, and it just goes blank after that.

and the circle in the xbox360 has only one light turned on, which is my wireless controller connected.

The night before I found this problem, the controller was working fine.

I really need to fix it because my brother is talking about co-op games but we can't play that since one controller is broken.

Hey Rusty. Unfortunately, it does sound like it's time for a new controller.

 

Greetings, your controller has a "short" inside it or your cable has been broken from inside and makes contact with other wires that makes your controller just flash the Ring of Light and turn immediately off , check your controller again , im sure that
its the cable fault . Hope this helps you.

 

I´m preety sure it´s not the cable´s fault because i can use the controller perfectly in my xbox

 

Well if you can use your controller on your xbox and not on your pc , you should try to reinstall your USB Drivers NOT Controller drivers , if it doesnt work again try reinstalling your OS on your PC. Hope this helps you.
