  1. Wired XBox 360 Controller Disconnects from PC if it is Touched Regardless of USB Port or Device

My wired Xbox 360 controller disconnects from the PC if it is touched enough to move slightly, regardless of whether it's connected through USB 2.0, 3.0, or even a USB hub, and regardless of whether it's connected to my PC or any of multiple laptops I have
tried. Sometimes the controller only connects while the center button is held down. Sometimes the controller does nothing at all.

I would like the controller to function intuitively as expected by the consumer.

    :)

Can't use external hard drive on Xbox 360

    Hello,

    Thanks for the support message.

To ensure that the drive is compatible with your Xbox 360 console, please check with the devices manufacturer.

Are you receiving any errors or is your 360 simply not recognizing the device?

Below are a couple of troubleshooting steps to try:

If the USB device is compatible with Xbox 360, troubleshoot the USB connection:

    1. Restart the Xbox 360 console.
    2. Disconnect the device from the USB port, and then turn off the console. After 5 to 10 seconds, turn the console back on. After the console has restarted, reconnect the device to the USB port.
    3. Turn off the console, remove the power cord from the power outlet, reconnect the power cord, and then turn on the console again.
    4. Disconnect any unnecessary devices from the console.
    5. Determine whether the USB device requires a separate power supply. If it does, attach the power supply.
    6. Connect the USB device to a different USB port on the console. If the device works in another USB port, the Xbox 360 console may need service.

    Controller not working

The USB play and charge kit for xbox 360 does NOT make it a wired controller
    - only transfers power, not data. You will see it as a device but there's no driver or any software that will make this work.

The only way to connect a wireless xbox 360 controller to a PC is with the xbox 360 USB wireless adapter for windows. You can also buy a purely wired xbox 360 controller from xbox or a 3rd party manufacturer: they all will work.

I would suggest an xbox one controller as those wireless controllers DO turn into a wired controller when a micro USB cable is used. Bluetooth is also available on newer ones.

Wired XBox 360 Controller Disconnects from PC if it is Touched Regardless of USB Port or Device

    Hey there RubyOpossum85.

It sounds like there might be an issue with the controller itself. Have you tested it on a different PC to see if there's any change?

Xbox360 Controller USB Incompatibility with PC

    Hi,

To use an Xbox 360 controller on its own on a PC, it must a wired controller. It does not matter if the USB port is 3.0, USB 2.0 devices will work on USB 3.0 ports.
The Xbox 360 Play and Charge can not send controller data back to the PC. It will only charge the battery, or power the controller if no battery is present. A play and charge for 360 controllers is a charger, nothing
    more.

Xbox 360 wireless controllers are always wireless. To use a Xbox 360 wireless controller on a PC, you'll need an Xbox 360 gaming receiver.

Only the Wireless Xbox One controllers can be made wired with the correct Micro USB sync and charge type cable.

Can I use Original Xbox360 controller on pc (the controller of the xbox360)?

If the Xbox 360 controller is a wired controller, then the controller can be used on the PC, just plug it in the USB port, and it should recognize it and let you use it. If it is a wireless Xbox 360 controller, then you will need the Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows to connect the controller to your PC.

Flash Drive always resets to factory settings help

    Hello,

    Try follow these steps:

    6. Connect the USB device to a different USB port on the console and see whether the device works. If the device works in another USB port, the Xbox 360 console may require service.
Note If these steps didn't resolve the issue, the Xbox 360 console may require service. Start the repair process online.
