Wired Xbox 360 controller blinks once and turns off

Hey all!

I've been having this issue since I reformatted and reinstalled Windows 7.

I have a wired 360 controller, and when I plug it in, the green flight flashes once and doesn't stay on.

I have installed all of the Xbox Accessory drivers (as can be seen here), but they have not helped.

When I look in the Device Manager, the Xbox 360 Controller does
not
show up. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the driver three times now.

I know the USB slots I'm using all work (I've tried the controller on 4 of them) as they can use my external hard drives with no problem as well.

Any advice?

I can not get a wireless OR a wired controller in port 2 on my xbox 360???

I have a wireless controller hooked up to my xbox 360 and it works. If I try to hook up both a wired or a wireless controller for a 2nd player it will not work. The wireless controller - the power button blinks and keeps blinking.... The wired controller
will not do anything. it will not turn on / light will not come on at all. I tried to turn the console off then back on and press the reset button. Not sure what to do.....any help would be appreciated.

 

Xbox wont turn off!!!

I have the original xbox 360 and just recently when I go to the menu to turn off the xbox and hit turn off it wont. The screen goes black but the xbox light for first player blinks once every 5 to 10 secs for about 1 min then the system turns off. Yes my
controller is wireless and no it is not plugged in when I turn the xbox off. My xbox is 4 years old and never had any problems. I just want to know why it does this.

I even just finished doing a fresh format and reinstall of Windows + Drivers, and it still isn't working...

Sorry to hear about the controller issue!

Do you happen to have an Xbox 360 console to test the controller with? If so, go ahead and plug in your controller to the console and see if it works. If it works, try a different PC to use the controller with.

I don't have a 360 to test with, sadly; but I have tried it on the Windows partition of my Macbook Pro and it works.

I may give them a call, haha - thanks a bunch =)
