Wired speed is nearly 10x slower than speed modem is giving out

Wireless connection will give you a slower connection speed then using a wired connection.

That router is nearly a decade old (released 2005). Nothing is going to help when you hit your cap obviously but if your experiencing lag/latency or much slower download speeds between wired/non wired devices a new router could make a huge difference.

Much of the performance increase would be dependent on what your ISP and modem supports ( modem owned by you or provided?). If you aren't hitting anywhere close to the advertised download speeds your paying for then upgrades are definitely in order.

HA, well I prefer things at 10x speed rather than 1x speed, refreshes it all, y'know?

The first xb1 dash style was the worst ever. And ive had xb1 since it came out. That style was so slow and loke 10x slower than the current xb360 style. And i have vodafone high speed internet. And the 1st style was based off a dumbed down windows 8 version
and windows 8 is bad compared to windows 10 which is faster and more user friendly.

Internet speed is affected depending on how many devices are connected on that network at the same time, the 10 megabytes of your connection are distributed to all devices, and connections become slower. It is recommended to use a wire to connect the console,
since it is faster than WiFi. Also sometimes game downloads are faster other times slower although the console is connected by wire.
