WIRED Series X controller keeps disconnecting/reconnecting on PC

Hey all,

I am playing on PC with a series X controller. I get too much input lag playing on Bluetooth so I have been playing wired (Anker USB 3.1 A to C). For the last month my controller will randomly turn off and right back on. I have tried multiple cables (Belkin, Anker and insignia) and I still have the same problem. I have the Xbox accessories app and have updated the controller and still constantly disconnects.

Is this an issue with a lot of controllers or should I just say screw it and buy a new one? It’s killing any fun of playing… thanks!

Ok, so, this could be happening for a lot of reasons.

Usually, could be either a controller issue or even software related to your PC.

What you can do is try to check for any updates on your PC.

And also, if possible, you could test your controller on another PC, a friend's or neighbours, doing that you will be able to test if the same behaviour repeats itself on another PC. This will show you if it's your controller or your PC.

I'm playing on a PC, this isn't a Forza issue, it's a Windows/Firmware/Compatibility issue, the controller disconnects even if i'm not in any games.
A lot of people have this issues on PC, for some it works fine in some games, and in others it keeps getting disconnected, and for most it just disconnects regardless of game or not.

It's been an issue since Xbox One controllers, and day Series X

My controllers keep disconnecting from my Xbox series X randomly while playing games. When it happens I connect a different controller and it keeps happening. I have 3 xbox one controllers and 2 series x controllers. I've tried using all of them. I've also gone through all of the troubleshooting steps, made sure controller and console updates have been done and have reset and reconnected the controllers multiple times. I've even tried saving the game soft resetting the console then restarting and reconnecting a controller. I cannot play the trial or opens in FH5 as those are multiplayer races and you cannot pause or rewind or you lose your place. Does my console have a defect with its bluetooth connection?

It won’t work with my phone/ pc. I tried connecting it to the console with a wire, putting new batteries in, and disconnecting and reconnecting and none of those worked. I’ve tried these methods on both of the controllers

Try to disconnect and reconnect the controller (wireless, wired). Tell me if this helps.
