    Wired Headsets not working

Alright, here's the issue, I've got two Xbox One's, 3 controllers and 4 different headsets. No matter the combination of controllers, xboxs or headsets will pick up my voice, however the Kinect will. I can hear everyone plain as day in all of my headsets
    using any controller too!

I've sort of dated back this issue to when I tried the party chat function on the Xbox One for Windows 10...

To my knowledge I've exhausted all of my options, please help!

    :)

  2. Wired headset not working

As stated in the xbox support about wired headsets:

    support.xbox.com/.../wired-headset-help

The following conditions may cause an echo or noise during game play:

The microphone detects ambient noises. This includes voice transmission that comes from the earpiece.

The headset plug is not fully inserted into the controller.

You are using the Xbox 360 Wireless Controller, and the battery levels in the unit are low.

If you or other players hear an echo or other noise during game play, try one of the following:

Turn the volume down on your TV or stereo.

Disconnect the headset from the controller, and then reconnect the headset to the controller.

Clean the plug on the headset cable with a clean cloth, and then reconnect the headset to the controller.

Test the headset by connecting the headset to a different controller if you can do this.

If you are using an Xbox 360 Wireless Controller, replace the AA batteries or recharge the Xbox 360 rechargeable battery.

Check these steps to locate your headset problem.

    Wired Headsets not working

I have tried re-assigning controllers to accounts, the adapter is not muted. The system has been power cycled (the modem has not, the kinect mic works)

I think it a controller update problem. Yesterday I had the same issue. I could hear everybody in party chat on my headset but nobody could hear me. I tried everything: updated the controller, checked my security setting, and even made sure my NAT was
open. I tried to play a game today and same problem, I could hear everybody just fine, but nobody could hear me. I started troubleshooting it and started up a party chat by myself and when ever I would talk my mic would not light up but my connect would
when I unplugged the headset. I thought either the headset is broke or my controller was, so I plugged my headset into another controller that I never use and started a party chat by myself and it worked. When I would talk and my mic would light up, so I
assigned the controller to my profile and did an update on the controller and the mic stopped working after the update. Same issue as before, I talk, but the mic wont light up. It like it like the update permanently muted my mic for the headset on that controller
    after the update.

Now I don't know what the problem is. When I plugged my headset into my second controller, I don't think it turned off my Kinect mic because I did not have it assigned to my profile, which is why I saw my mic light up. Now I don't know if it was because
    of the update or not.

Sorry for all the confusion. I can definitely date it back to when I first started party chat yesterday because it was working fine before then even on the normal game chat.

    It is a software problem.

I have been asking Xbox to fix this, for me this problem started 3 MONTHS ago and I have tried ALL the recommended so called fix's and none of them work, Believe me.

We are stuck until they take time off from the "back compat" programing and decide to fix this, sorry if this sounds like a bit of a rant but im just fed up now, but believe me when i say none of the fix's work.

Here's another twist, I plugged my cellphone headset in to the adapter and that in to my controller, and it worked!

This still poses the problem of how will I use both my xboxs at once, my girlfriend and I are on the same raid team.

I feel your pain. I have also been dealing with this for months. I am very confident that it is a software issue. I have tried multiple controllers, headsets, and headset adapters. nothing has worked. Xbox and Turtle beach support have not been able to provide
a fix at this time. Some users have been experiencing this issue for almost 1 year.

here is a link to my thread with all the troubleshooting steps that I've taken so far:
