    Wired headset won't work with Xox 360


    I have an Xbox 360 that was bought new as a Christmas present. It came with a wired headset that has one earpiece and a microphone. Initially, I thought it had to be installed on the Xbox itself but I couldn't find a port to plug
    it into since the RGB cord had to go into the only 1/8 inch port on the unit. So, I just shrugged and did without the headset. Today, I finally did some research and discovered that it had to be plugged into the controller and found instructions that showed
    where it plugged in. The problem is that I don't hear anything when I plug it into the controller.

    I've turned the volume dial all the way to either end but the DVD I'm watching still isn't audible. I've tried it with the mute slider in either position. Still nothing. The only thing I hear is a very faint pop as I insert or remove the plug from the controller.

    Is there some additional switch I have to set, maybe within the Xbox settings, to enable the headset? If so, can someone please tell me what I need to do? I've never used the headset so I'm reluctant to believe it is broken, although I suppose it could be
    defective right out of the box.

    wired 360 headset work with adaptor.....

    I really hope that TB release a blutooth adapter. My XP500's would miss my head. If they don't I'll have the most expensive set of TV headphones I've ever had.

    The wired headset that comes with the 360 is for in game chat only with other players.

    You will not hear game audio through it, for full game audio and chat you will need a full headset.

    An excellent budget headset to use with the 360 is something like the Turtle Beach X12, these connect through an additional adapter that plugs into the console itself.

    The "mic" you're referring to is the boom mic that plugs into the headset.



    The mic I'm referring to is the chat system that allows one to talk to other players. Normally, that's supported by a wired mic cable that goes from the 360 controller to other headsets. On all other 360 headsets, a cable is required from the base of the
    360 controller to the headset for chat. Even the wireless Astro A50 has a mic cable port to go to the 360 controller.



    On the Tritton Warhead, that's all done wirelessly, same as the Microsoft Wireless Mic for 360 works. Tritton integrated the wireless mic into the headset base unit so that the headset can be completely wireless - no wired mic cable going to the controller.



    It's the wired mic cable that the Tritton Warhead lacks that is the problem. There will be no way for the Warhead's base unit to sync its wireless mic with the Xbox One.



    If all you want to do is use the Warhead as a wireless headset without a mic, it will be fine. If you want mic support, it won't.

    Ya I bought a Tritton Warhead last Christmas and I was very unhappy that the wireless chat function of the headset won't work with the new X1. That was an expensive headset but I'll never go back to wires....ever again
