Wired headset isn't working

I have a wired headset with a 3.5mm end. I cannot get it to work with any of my controllers. I plug it into my phone and it works fine. If I'm in a party it says no mic can be found. At first I thought it may be the port on my controller that wasn't working.
But I'm having this issue with all my controllers. I have also tried other 3.5mm headsets and they will not work with the controller either. Yes I have checked if I'm muted and I've turned all volume controls up to no avail. I can get the old Xbox one USB
headset to work. Any one have any ideas for a fix.

:)

2. no voice control in headset mic

We recently purchase a Kinect for the xbox 360 and now we can not get our wired headset to work, any suggestions? We have tried turning the Kinect off we have tried different headsets so we know it isn't the headset because nothing is working.

Wired Headsets not working

I think it a controller update problem. Yesterday I had the same issue. I could hear everybody in party chat on my headset but nobody could hear me. I tried everything: updated the controller, checked my security setting, and even made sure my NAT was
open. I tried to play a game today and same problem, I could hear everybody just fine, but nobody could hear me. I started troubleshooting it and started up a party chat by myself and when ever I would talk my mic would not light up but my connect would
when I unplugged the headset. I thought either the headset is broke or my controller was, so I plugged my headset into another controller that I never use and started a party chat by myself and it worked. When I would talk and my mic would light up, so I
assigned the controller to my profile and did an update on the controller and the mic stopped working after the update. Same issue as before, I talk, but the mic wont light up. It like it like the update permanently muted my mic for the headset on that controller
after the update.

Will the Xbox One Headset adapter work with the Xbox 360 Halo 4 heahphone?

If there the wired headset model then yes, I use the Halo 4 Tritton Trigger and it works, though there is a problem with the game audio also coming through the headset this isn't supposed to happen. But they work, if you are on about the wireless headset
then it is not going to work.

High end headset
No, the adapter isn't wired.
You say that, but then you say this.
It's likely going to be a puck or module type adapter that plugs into the new proprietary chat connection on the controller with an output for the current
360 style chat connection.
So exactly how isn't that wired?

All existing headsets that work with the 360 controller's chat connection use a cable to do it - Astro, TB, Razer - any headset that integrates chat into the headset experience runs a wire from the headset to the controller.

The only headset that does not is the Tritton Warhead. That's because its base unit pairs with the 360 same as the 360 wireless chat headset does. The base unit takes care of mixing the chat audio.

Can't connect to my WiFi. Bizarre issue for me.

Hey Cerb,

I'm sorry but when I was mentioning my Turtle Beach headset earlier, I should have mentioned that they are wired. So I'm sure that the Turtle Beach headset isn't the case. But regardless I tried sighing in anyway for just the heck of it, and didn't work
anyway. But oddly, my dashboard does load a lot quicker.... but even if the wired headset was the problem, it hasn't been plugged into the the T.V. or Xbox at all, since I can't go online.

Anyway, a wired connection isn't possible for me. It's the reason why I have to use wireless.

Thank you much, a million times for the continued help.

Wired headset not working

As stated in the xbox support about wired headsets:

support.xbox.com/.../wired-headset-help

The following conditions may cause an echo or noise during game play:

The microphone detects ambient noises. This includes voice transmission that comes from the earpiece.

The headset plug is not fully inserted into the controller.

You are using the Xbox 360 Wireless Controller, and the battery levels in the unit are low.

If you or other players hear an echo or other noise during game play, try one of the following:

Turn the volume down on your TV or stereo.

Disconnect the headset from the controller, and then reconnect the headset to the controller.

Clean the plug on the headset cable with a clean cloth, and then reconnect the headset to the controller.

Test the headset by connecting the headset to a different controller if you can do this.

If you are using an Xbox 360 Wireless Controller, replace the AA batteries or recharge the Xbox 360 rechargeable battery.

Check these steps to locate your headset problem.
