  1. Wired (Ethernet) cable can't connect to xbox live, (Test Failed)

I have both wired and wireless connectors and I want to connect my pc's internet to my xbox as my router is a little far so I only get like 1 bar. I can connect with wifi dongle to my router but I keep getting disconnected due to low range. I have ethernet
cable but when I try to connect it gives error on the first one and says "Test failed. There's a problem with your connection. Let's try to fix it (null)" I have tried pretty much all of the suggestions that came up I unplugged my router I put manual dns in
and everything but I still get the same error message, someone said it might be from wrong password but I wasn't asked for a password when connecting it just connected straight away, and when I plug in ethernet cable the "Advanced Settings" menu disappear
I don't know what is going on or how to fix it it's the first time I'm trying to connect via ethernet cable. Please help, thank you.

    :)

How to Connect Internet Cable directly to Xbox 360

    Hi everybody.

So recently I've been experiencing a lot of lag on CoD, i.e, whenever I join a game I get 2-bar and 3-bar connections. So I decided to search for some solutions. I read somewhere that I can fix this problem by directly connecting my Xbox to the router using an Ethernet cable. Now the problem arises as I do not possess an Ethernet cable.
Currently, I have a cable through which Internet is supplied (It's a Fibrenet connection, which uses Optical Fibres for transmitting the Internet) and this cable is connected to a router which provides me WiFi.
I was wondering if I can connect my Internet Cable directly to the Xbox 360 without Ethernet cables.
(The cable looks exactly like an Ethernet cable so it can fit into the Ethernet jack of the Xbox, so that problem is covered.)

EDIT : I connected the Internet Cable to the Xbox but when I tested connection, It does not connect to Internet. Help

    Xbox live connection

My Xbox won't connect to live. When I try to run the test it doesn't recognize my available network. I have an ethernet cable run to the machine. I pick wired network and it tells me to make sure an ethernet cable is connected. It is. This started about
a week ago. I've tried other ethernet cables and had the same problem.

Wired (Ethernet) cable can't connect to xbox live, (Test Failed)

I'm experiencing the same problem with a shared ethernet connection. I've tried both standard shared connection and bridged, as suggested by various help articles. I've done manual and automatic settings, cleared cache, reset to factory defaults, etc.

Connection fails between Xbox and Network, then gives the (null) error as those above have mentioned.

I was connected via the same shared connection 4 days ago, but would disconnect from XBL frequently (every 20 minutes or so), so I tried resetting the sharing settings on my PC and appear to have messed it up some how. However, the connection help has been
getting less helpful over the last few days, to the point where it now just gives me this null error.

Set a static IP address via your console's network settings. As well, set a static Gateway and Net Mask. Set your DNS to Google's (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4). Try again.

    No luck.

I tried the suggested static addresses from
    this
article and Google's DNS. No change. Still threw the error at the first stage.

  12. look at the ethernet cord. it will say CAT then a number. for us it has to be CAT 6, just to run the high speed we are using.

    USB network card on xbox

I have tested with three wires and says''I always make sure that the ethernet cable connected to the Xbox'' :(

    Cannot connect to XBOX Live

Should that not resolve the issue, suggest you use an ethernet cable and connect directly from the Xbox to the modem, bypassing the Time Capsule, then run the Test Xbox Live Connection test. If it still fails, please advise the first and the second result
    of the [More Information] option.

    Cannot connect to Xbox Live.

    Hey there xCyn!

How long have you been unable to connect to LIVE? Do you receive any error messages? If you "Test Xbox network connection" where on that test does it fail? How is your Xbox set up to internet connection? Could you try connect your Ethernet cable to a computer
to determine if this could be the cause.
