Wired controllers no longer working after update.

Thank you for contacting the Xbox Support forums. To confirm, did your controller start spamming "A" only after a recent firmware update? If so, please attempt to roll back the firmware update to see if that resolves the issue. You may do this by following the following the steps below. Keep in mind that this is typically a fix for bluetooth, but it may be worth trying if you noticed this error only after recent firmware updates.

1) Press the Xbox button to open the guide
2) Go to Profile and System > Xbox Assist > Help Topics > Console and Accessories > Controller > My controller has connection issues after the last update
3) Select Check Controller Firmware
4) From here, you should be at the controller firmware reversion screen in the Xbox Accessories app. Follow the instructions provided in the app to revert the firm ware update

If this does not resolve the issue, can you please respond with the type of controller you have? Is it an Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox 360 controller or a 3rd party brand controller?

I am also having this issue. However, my wired controller is not working either. Both controllers are authentic microsoft controllers and I have one of them wired with the charge pack cable. On started after I updated this fall. Any fixes?

i am also having this problem except even the home button will not work, but wired it works 100%. The problem started after the Feb controller update

Thanks for your reply , tried everything console no longer works with wireless controllers after last update

The controller does not connect wired or wireless. I had taken the controller with me into the kitchen and that’s when it disconnected and it will no longer connect so unable to update.
