Wired controller is making my microphone quiet for my friends

The next step will be for you to try and use the headset on different controllers and consoles to confirm it is not an issue with the headset itself.

In case the issue still persists, the next step would be to perform a reset on the console. To do so you will need to follow the steps below to perform a reset on the Xbox :

Settings > System > Console Info > Reset This Xbox > Reset and Keep my Games and Apps.

Note =>The "Reset and Keep my Games and Apps" option will not cause losing your games, but please be aware that you need to be completely aware of the email address as well as the password of your account before going for it because it will require you to sign in to the account.

The last option would be for you to try and request a replacement for your controller from the microsoft website online.

If nothing from the steps above help you resolve the issue please try to contact the Live Support in case you are the replacement is not successful from your side.

Maybe tell your loud friend to move the microphone piece further away from their mouth and tell your quiet friend to move the microphone closer to their mouth. It's most likely to do with the headsets they are using.

Thanks for your quick feedback, I already have an HDMI 2.1 receiver but none of them allow me to plug in a microphone to talk to my friends.

I don't want to connect a microphone or anything to my pad.

Is there an xbox-certified device that allows me to plug in a wired microphone?

I got the sound to work but it is SUPER quiet, I did the controller update to. Is weird because before I did the controller update I could hear my friends (really *** of course) and then I finsihed everything sounded goo but still quiet, and now I can t
hear my friends and they can't hear

Is the microphone socket on your controller blocked by anything or has a previous wired microphone lead snapped while in the controller? The reason I ask this is because any wired microphone will not let a wireless microphone connect to the controllers player
number. If it looks clear, start up an Xbox Live party and check if it says a microphone is connected without turning on your wireless microphone, if it says a microphone is connected then there's the issue. If it's possible I would return it to the retailer
you bought it from for an exchange.
