    Wired Connection Not Working


    Hi, I am having issues connecting my Xbox One to the internet via my building's wired connection, and there is not a wireless network I can connect to.

    My wired connection was working fine until this past Saturday (February 20), at which point I could connect to the internet and xbox live, but would be disconnected after a while (20-30 minutes). Since then, I have not been able to connect at all. I would
    plug my ethernet cable into my console, and it would register that there was a network but would be unable to access the internet.My computer has been having the same problem, though I have been able to access the internet on other peoples' consoles and computers
    with the same cable and port.

    I can only assume that this is a hardware issue, but I don't know what could have caused it to happen on just my laptop and xbox console. I was wondering if anyone here has any ideas.

    Just to clarify, are other devices connecting to wired just fine? Additionally, are you the Xbox Insider program by chance? If so, I recommend reporting the issue and check in with our

    Wired in connection not working

    Not sure entirely what is going on but when i try to connect to xbox live when wired in it wont connect but if i do wireless it connects just fine. Checked with multiple cable still no luck did factory reset after talking with support
    still no luck. checked other wired in connection in my apartment all connecting just fine no issues

    Hey there Aaron22Darron56.

    It sounds like there may be some trouble with the network on your end if your computer is experiencing similar issues. Let's try resetting your network by unplugging the network hardware completely for 30 seconds and then reconnect. If you're in a building
    that share a network connection you may need to reach out to the network administrator for assistance.

    Have you tried any of the troubleshooting steps such as rebooting all of your networking equipment and doing a hard reset on your Xbox?

    Did you guy a hub or a switch? How long is the network cable? Is there anything else touching the cable/resting on it that might cause interference? And if possible can you connect directly to your router without the hub just to test? Thanks.

    Hey there NOWIAMANOOB!

    Sorry to hear that you're having problems with the console picking up that it's wired when it is.

    Now, I would normally say that the best bet for you to try what we call a soft reset of your console.

    However we currently are having problems with our
    Xbox Live Service Status    , I'd recommend waiting until it is resolved before you go ahead with this step.

    The soft reset is a reset of your console back to factory settings but one that does not uninstall any of your games or apps and is a really good troubleshooting step for most issues.

    Just make sure that before you go ahead with it, that you do know all of the sign-in information for any/all of your accounts(asthey
    will be removed) and have easy access to your internet network (since it's not picking up all the time that you're wired, I'd go ahead and switch to wireless for this step).

    Also make sure that you select the option denoted reset and keep my games and apps.
