1. Wired Connection Can't Get An IP Address

I have an Xbox one where the wired connection used to work. However I upgraded my cable company's router to get 200Mbps. So now the wireless works and the wired connection does not. Here is what I've done.

Cable Company: Time Warner Cable

Router: **** TG1672

1. Reset the modem and reset (long press on console burger button) the xbox. I allowed the router to come back on then turned the Xbox back on.

2. Changed Ethernet cables.

3. Changed Ethernet ports (regardless I have other equipment hooked up on the provider's router that is able to make a connection).

4. Cleared Mac Address in network settings.

5. Made sure that IP setting is Automatic

6. For DNS setting there is no Automatic option for wired connection. The DNS addresses are filled in and they are corrected (based on a ip config /all cmd on windows machine).

I'm almost certain there is a setting that needs to be modified on the router (via 192.168.0.1). However I'm not sure what the setting is. Anyone have any feedback?

:)

2. My Xbox 360 can't connect to a wired network.

When I try an Xbox Live connection test, it says it can't connect to my wired network because it can't obtain an IP address. I've tried setting it to automatically detect IP, and I've tried manually inputting my IP, and neither of these helped at all.

Can't connect to XBL in Blazblu for Windows 7 but game for windows live works

Everything was fine yesterday. Now I can't login to play a network game. The network information is as below:

Network Adapter: Local area network

Internet IP address: Not signed in

Local IP address: (My own IP number)

System Link address: not active

uPnP: Not signed in

NAT type: Open.

I am using a wired connection and nothing should be wrong.

4. Wired Connection Can't Get An IP Address

Hello

Could you try to manually enter an IP on your Xbox One to see if that fixes it, it could be that your router doesn't automatically assign an IP through the DHCP settings.

To manually assign an IP to your Xbox One console

• Go to settings
• Network
• Advanced Settings
• IP Settings
From there you can manually assign an IP address, I suggest having a high one so you're sure it won't be in conflict with any other device, so choose one between 192.168.0.150-192.168.0.199 (only change the last 3 digits)

If your assigned IP is high enough so you don't have it in conflict with others, you don't have to worry about DHCP reservation settings in your router.

If after obtaining an IP you see that your NAT is on Moderate or Strict you can follow either of the 3 steps to change it to NAT

Option1: Port Forwarding

Option2: DMZ

Option3: UPnP

5. Your post allowed lead me to the fix. When I went to enter a manual IP address I noticed that the Xbox had assigned an IP address, broadcast address, and gateway that were not via the Arris router. So I had to manually enter the information.

IP Address: 192.168.0.150

Broadcast: 255.255.255.0

Gateway: 192.168.0.1

After that it works great. I'm not sure why the Xbox was not doing this automatically.

So you fail to get an ip address when connected wired as well?

The thing is.. even if the modem wasn't connected to the router you should still get an ip address from the router when wired, obviously no further than that but it shouldn't fail on ip address failed wired to the router if you have reset the Xbox network
settings back to defaults

recommended internet speed for xbox one?
TY ice storm. Tonight I will check my ip when wired and on WiFi.
It should be different. Usually DHCP servers "remember" leases by hardware address. The hardware address should be different for the wired connection and wireless
connection. What you care about is if the IP address for either isn't showing up in the router's DHCP client list, indicating something else is providing the IP address.
