Wired 360 controller issues on certain games

I have a wired xbox 360 controller (black). For the vast majority of games I play, everything works fine. But for a very small, select few, the triggers glitch out and become useless.

For example, when playing Rayman Origins with my wired controller, the triggers lock up as if I'm holding them down, which in turn causes the character to sprint in place without any actual input from me.

Another example is Dragon Age Inquisition. Again, the triggers seem to lock up as soon as I press them to attack an enemy, causing my character to swing their weapon several times over without me pressing the button. They eventually stop, maybe like a minute
later, but as soon as I press it again, they start attacking uncontrollably, even if there arent any enemies to attack, for another whole minute.

Like I said, this only happens with certain games and only with my wireless controller. What's the deal?

Original Wired Xbox 360 controller for PC?

Hey guys. I'm wondering if it's possible to use an original wired xbox 360 controller to play PC games.

I'm not talking about an official 'Wired xbox 360 controller for Windows', I'm talking about a wired controller that you may find in an xbox 360 bundle.

Xbox 360 wireless controller.

You can't, however you can use a WIRED Xbox 360 controller to play games on a pc as the drivers for the wired controller are built into Windows

 

Wireless controller? Then either A, interference with the specific input not reaching the console properly, or, B the controller hates your battery brand and power output and you need to try a different kind. Don't ask me why, but I've had issues with both.

i dunno why I put wireless at the very end, but yes, it's an issue with my wired controller.

 

Hard to say. Could be the controller itself. Try cleaning the USB connector and making sure all connections are clean. You can get a q-tip and some rubbing alcohol to wipe the connectors and ports clean.
