I'm working on my home theatre setup and I'm nearly complete. This is my first experience with XBOX... I've honestly never really been a big gaming enthusiast. My wife had a Wii, but that is more a toy than a real gaming system... I love the AV functions
and Kinect capabilities that have come with the xbox one. It really is an excellent experience especially when combined with Smart Glass. And I've been pleasantly surprised with the in game immersive audio experience, especially with the 9.4.2 surround setup
in our living room. I'm extremely excited about the demo at E3 with the immersive projector which hopefully will make it into the real world very soon. So close to a holodeck it's really bringing out the Treky in me (and it's been 20 years since I've watch
    star trek.)

So.. I've moved the Denon receiver and xbox one into the closet in my office and extended the kinect with the Kinect for Windows Kit and a USB3 active extension cable. To solve the loss of IR Blaster functionality, I bought an IR over HDMI tap from Amazon
and an AGPtek IR hub. Outputs from the hub go to a harmony blaster in the living room and to the other AV equipment in the closet. ... attached it to the AGPtek's IR receiver port to the xbox's IR Transmitter port. This also gives me the ability to add other
IR transmission devices to the AGPtek hub's receiver ports for control of lighting and the roll down screen in the future.

So the xbox one can control the projector in the living room. Kinect can talk to the xbox one... there's only one problem.

I bought a WinTV HVR to supplement the online content on the xbox one (Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, etc.) with local broadcast television under the impression that it was already public release.. especially since Microsoft has it listed as a compatible accessory
on the xbox one support accessories website. So it shows up today.. I attach it to the xbox and I get an "unsupported region" error. Went and verified everything in the xbox settings... region is US both for my account and the XBOX when offline. I go digging
around online and it appears there is a Preview program you must be enrolled in in order to utilize this functionality and no public availability date for the service listed other than assumptions of mid May or June.

That leads me to two somewhat loaded questions: Is there a hard date yet on when this will be public release? And better yet anybody interested in a friending an AV enthusiast who quite honestly is really just looking for an invite into the Preview Program.
    WinTV-HVR :)

Also I'd be interested in anyones experience with the TIme Shifting functionality in XBOX one, as well as if anyone has heard of the possibiliity of DVR functionality within it.

    :)

I installed the Tuner Stick on the back of my Xboxone and I have the guide, but, when I go to TV for the Xboxone, It is telling me that, the signal is lost. Would anybody know what I am doing wrong? Do I need to hook up audio or video?

I had the same problem. I reset my tv settings on my XB1 and it helped but then noticed if I get to that place again I press the X button on the controller and it takes me back to the tuner stick.

There was am official video released talking about all this. They said expect 30 minutes of pause time for now, but No DVR just yet. I read somewhere that DVR is coming soon and you will need an external hard drive with USB 3.0 to attach to the XBOXONE.
Again no time frame on true DVR capabilities. I like Western Digital's MyBook -

I am waiting for this as well. I hope I can get 2 channels recording at the same time. If not, I may have to purchase 2 Xbox One's.

An external HDD shouldn't be needed. The internal 500GB should be good as long as you watch shows and delete in a timely matter. My Dish Network DVR had a 500GB drive in it and I never filled it up, but everybody is different. 2TB external USB 3.0 (no external
power cord) can be found for less than $140.

DVR is rumored to be release in "2015."

TV turner to all Xbox One owners

I bought my Tuner (Hauppague) at Best Buy Canada. They seem to have a mix of inventory on the shelves so I was able to pick up the WinTV-HVR-955Q for same retail price as the 950Q. Imagine the smile on my face. :) Now waiting for approval for my registration
for he preview program and will test from there. I have 14 days to return the tuner (with receipt) if I need to.

Over the Air Tuner for the U.S. and Canada

Hauppauge WinTV-955Q I got it from Amazon. Had a gift card. I used to have a HomeWorx box before but it died and never bought another one. So hoping this is better since it's straight to the system
