"Peggle 2" is an XBox LIVE Arcade Game.

XBox veterans know exactly what I mean.

You know exactly what I mean.

On the XBox 360 most XBox LIVE Arcade Games were trivial time wasters for you to throw a bit of money out for a couple of day's worth of distraction.

Fortunately the XBox LIVE Arcade Games on the ONE seem to be much better efforts and of all the XBox Live Arcade Games released on the XBox 360 and the ONE "Peggle 2" has to be the best.

 

I know what you mean Azrael, I'm just trying to correct you, because I know I'm right.

to me.. an arcade game is a smaller type game with not a lot of "work" to play it... peggle for instance... aim.. shoot.. watch.. pray... repeat...

I think of them like this... if it could be an arcade game, that uses quarters and will be in an "ARCADE".. with points and high scores and limited lives until game over... welp... then it is an arcade game...

DR3, BF4 F5.. NOT arcade games

 

That's a perception that you have though tohellnbak, not a reality. That perception was implanted into your head because of certain notions that you and Azrael have already described and assumed, but that's not actually what makes them arcade games.

In order to be an arcade game, it needs to fall under 1 of 3 categories: It needs to either be a game that has an associated arcade cabinet that you can put tokens or quarters in, be located in an actual arcade, or be a part of Microsoft's Xbox Live arcade
program on the Xbox 360 - nothing else qualifies (including games on the Xbox One).

In reference to the last of the 3, the arcade games on the Xbox 360 were nothing more than digital-only available titles. MS only used the term "arcade" for marketing purposes to get people to buy into it (and it has apparently worked if your views are any
indication). However, even that's changed over the years, as many of the Xbox 360's arcade games are now available on multiple platforms and through physical discs as well. To give you a comparison, games that were available on disc are now available as downloads
and were called "Games on Demand" by MS, but we don't call games on the Xbox One (or any other platform )"Games on Demand" do we? No, we don't - it's the same concept.

Also, tohellnbak, many of those arcade games on the Xbox 360 were anything but small as they could often provide hours upon hours of fun, frustration, and more... There's far too many examples that I could list here.

I need to start another topic - this one is losing touch with Windy and her Fairy Flock!

 

You know I honestly don't know why they didn't continue to use the arcade title. Who knows, they may filter it down the lines to help categorize things as the library grows. It makes sense to throw everything into the same pool this early in so it looks
less bare.

 

Picked peggle up last night for the misses and ended up sitting there for hours playing.

 

This is also a great family game. Every Friday night the wife, my daughter, and myself have game night. We play a ton of SNES and N64, but they LOVE both Peggle games.

I traded Tf and Lego Movie in for $60 worth of MS "points/money"... bought Peggle 2 and just finished downloading Powerstar Golf.

Peggle alone kept me more entertained than TF did... funny how that works...???

 

You'd think there would be someone here who didn't like Peggle 2... Is there?

 

Only have 5 more little rainbows to get till I am back to 100% completion...

 

kingvas, I agree, those smaller titles can do that. I don't think I have played another game since getting Trials.

 

Enough with Trials, Cloud! Pick up and play Peggle 2 already dagnabbit! I want to know what you think of it and you're off-topic anyways!

How do you do a mad smiley (now there's a contradiction)? If I knew how I'd put one in this post!
