Windows Xbox app TV/Volume controls disappeared

My PC automatically updated the Windows Xbox app to the newest version on March 29, 2017. Now when I go to
Connections and connect to my Xbox the only control option available under the CONTROLS heading is just the Xbox controller. Up until the update I used to have the Xbox controller, my cable box remote and a volume control. Has this functionality
been removed??? Or is there a problem with the app?

    :)

    Windows Volume Mixer

Why doesn't the Windows Volume Mixer have a separate volume control for the XBOX One App?

I can control volumes for other apps. It would be nice to lower the XBOX App volume or even Mute it independently.

  3. How adjust PC volume from 360 remote with TV support enabled?

Hi, once the "Xbox 360 Universal Media Remote" has been enabled to operate a TV set (to turn the TV on/off etc.) the remote's volume buttons ALWAYS control the TV volume. How can I use the remote to control the PC volume? Regardless of if the remote's TV
button is green or red, the volume buttons control the TV volume.

I am using this remote to control Windows Media Center on a regular PC, and really need to control the PC volume, not the TV volume.

PC volume can be controlled if I do not enable the remote's TV support, but then I also lose the ability to turn the TV on/off :-(

    Hi,

The Xbox app should still have the functionalities you've mentioned. One reason why you're encountering this issue is if the updates were not properly installed. We recommend running the Windows apps troubleshooter provided on this

    link
. This can help in resolving issues regarding applications downloaded from the Windows Store.

We also need to make sure that your Windows 10 device is up-to-date. Refer to
How to get software and driver updates for Windows 10
    for the steps.

If the same instance occurs, kindly uninstall and reinstall the Xbox app. Here are the steps:

    1. Launch Windows PowerShell as an administrator. To do this, click Start > All apps > Windows PowerShell. Right-click Windows PowerShell and click More > Run as Administrator.
    2. In the Windows PowerShell window, copy and paste the following command: Get-AppxPackage *xboxapp* | Remove-AppxPackage
    3. Restart your device so that the changes can take effect.
    4. Once done uninstalling, click this
      link
      and download the Xbox app.

Keep us posted with the outcome. We'd be glad to further assist you.

Followed all these instructions and all drivers are up to date. Reinstalled the Xbox app from the link you provided but the TV/volume remote functionality is still not there. The only control option available is the Xbox controller. Where did the TV and
    volume controls go??

  7. Another solution we can perform is to sign to a different Microsoft account in the Xbox app on Windows 10. Refer to

How to switch between Microsoft accounts in the Xbox app on Windows 10
for the steps. This can help us isolate if there's an issue with the account you're using.

Notify us with the progress. We'll provide you additional troubleshooting methods in case you encounter the same issue.

I have already tried this as part of my own troubleshooting methods. The TV functionality still does not exist. While scouring the Internet I've come upon posts in the Reddit forums of other people who have the same problem. Apparently Microsoft has responded
in those forums stating that the functionality has indeed been removed from the Xbox app and if you want to have the TV and volume controls again you have to use the Xbox SmartGlass app. If this is true then how come I am being told to perform all these troubleshooting
steps if the functionality has been removed?
