    Windows Xbox app streaming black screen


    Hi guys

    I may have found a bug today. My tv broke so I tried to remote play. Xbox screen resolution was set to 1080p so I thought that if I reduced to 720p it would be better because of my current wireless network.

    So after couple of sessions I tried to open Windows Xbox app streaming but it gave me a black screen and then disconnected me. My monitor is 1080p and at that time my Xbox was set at 720p.

    So, I looked up the internet but none resolution was effective and I thought that I just changed the xbox resolution so I changed back to 1080p and it is working perfectly since and no more disconnections and black screens.

    Maybe there is something wrong between different screen resolutions at Windows app an xbox streaming? Could you guys test it too please? Change your xbox resolution and then try to use windows app streaming feature.

Something curious is that even if its a black screen I can still hear the xbox sounds and games, but only the black screen is the issue...

    Yep. Seems to be a widespread problem. The only solution is to turn your TV on before streaming. If the TV is on it works flawless.

    I really hope they come out with a fix because I don't want to have my TV on when I stream remotely. Defeats the purpose.

    same type of issue here when streaming xbox one to win 10 pc the stream is in a smaller scale and not in full screen mode and there is black bars down the sides of the screen and what looks like a windows tab bar across the top of the screen . this happened
    after the latest update on the xbox beta app version 11.10.23004.00000
    doesn't do this on the standard xbox app version 9.928033.00000 but i cant use my usb mic on the standard xbox app only the beta version so its a bit of a issue

    If your PC monitor has HDMI input yes you could use that as a screen for your xbox. If not you could set up streaming to windows 10 xbox app and stream your xbox to the app

    Same here.

    Since a few days, Xbox App stream just show a black screen, whether I want to stream from cloud, my XSX, or XO.

    Old "Companion" app still streams perfectly for XO. Cloud works perfectly from browsers on the PC. It's clearly the Xbox App that's at fault here.
