Windows Xbox app in game chat

Using the windows Xbox companion to stream with using window capture to obs

In game sounds and party chat comes through the app fine (as well as on the headset plugged direct into xbox remote) however in game chat for when crossplay games are played etc does not come through the app yet works as expected through my headset

Does the app not allow in game chat to be broadcast?

Again no problem when using party chat but a non party in game chat is required. Game sounds come through fine just no in game chat?

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately any form of Xbox party is no good as we play with friends using ps4 hence the in game chat works great but the app doesn't seem to pick up in game chat only the game sounds.

I get if your in a party it overrides the in game chat but even when no party lobby is active it still doesn't come through yet works as it should via the headset so I know the sound is there

Its very odd! I can only assume maybe the in game chat is blocked by the app somehow although I'm hoping not

For my part I stream my Xbox on my PC and then I capture the window of the console in Xsplit.

For chatting I create the group of friends via the Xbox PC app before launching the stream of the console on the PC and so we hear the sound of the group of friends in Xsplit at the same time as the game because the software captures what I hear in my headphones.

Then I go back to my console to play.

In short I play on my Xbox but I stream my game on my PC and am in a group of friends on the PC, which stream via Xsplit all on Twitch.

live chat on xbox.com, on the console, or on the Windows 10 app? It is still on the Windows 10 app, but generally you can't send live chats unless you are on the phone and Windows 10 apps or in the Clubs on the console.

Party chat on Windows/Xbox App still works. An alternative is the Xbox game bar Party.

To bring up the Xbox game bar, Hold the Windows button and Press "G"

From there you will be able to initiate a Party and Much more!

This would fix the problem but it wont if you are using the headset wireless to chat in a party on xbox app or other apps and listen to game audio/music at the same time, unless you use the xbox wireless adapter you cannot use the stereo on the xbox wireless headset for both chat and gaming.

This is a feature of using this headset on windows (not experienced it with any others), even though you can join a party on the mobile app and listen to music or play a game without this problem at all.

only ways around being able to use the headset in stereo on windows pc while having chat/calls is to either plug it in via usb c or buying the xbox wireless adapter
