Windows store won't start

I don't believe it's related to an Xbox account. This particular error I'm not familiar with. The Windows forum has a post on troubleshooting apps:

Usually if one store app has a problem, the other ones will (such as Photos). Hope this helps!

I found the gaming services is not installed and I it's installation won't start at all, either by windows store or by xbox app. Even tried the solution involving PowerShell posted on other posts and the download didn't start.

Click the three dots in the upper right corner and select Repair.

4. Compatibility Mode

I had exactly the same problem on a Windows 10 machine, but your workaround did the trick. It's curious why the game won't start from the Solitaire Collection, but will do from Microsoft Store. Many, many thanks!
