Windows store games on Steam link

I want to buy ReCore and future Xbox anywhere games in the future like Gears of War, but I first tried with Halo 5 Forge and cannot add the shortcut to my Steam library to be able to play it on Steam link and controller. I can do it with Origin, I can do
it with Uplay, I can do it with Battle.net, yet it does not seem to work with Windows store games. Will there be a way to do it? If so that will be instabuy for me.

just as it seems. xbox one s controller right stick not working on steam. not able to look around with the right joystick on windows 10 in steam games. works with games from the windows store. Also causes drift in unity run time.

 

the windows/microsoft store is separate from steam. it's a totally different thing than the old Games For Windows Live system.

I just want to stream the game to my Steamlink, like every other game. I can play Uplay, Origin and Battle.net, even if they are "separate" from Steam.

 

honestly i don't know a lot about Steam. i personally have never used it for anything at all. looking into this, you are trying to use a device called Steam Link to play Windows games on your TV? so you need to get the games added to your Steam Library
to be able to do so, correct?

so i did a quick search for "Windows App Games Steam Library" and found a few results. apparently this is not something officially supported, though it seems people have managed to get it working.

the steam forums (which would probably be the best place to discuss this) has a big thread about it, which also has links to some of the other top search results. basically the issue seems to be that windows app games are stored in a hidden folder (usually
c:/program files/windowsapps/) and they are not normal exe files. sorry for not giving an exact answer, but i don't think my post would be appropriate to the forums here, and i'd rather not risk a temporary forum ban (or worse) for providing unsupported info.

I understand, I just think Microsoft should be a little more opened on this. Creating a BAT file to make it half work (Steam overlay does not work, so we cannot configure the Steam controller) is not a solution. Creating a shortcut like every other game
on PC would do it. Seriously, we cannot even create a shortcut. They are loosing me right there, and for probably others.
