Windows Security App Shows Blank Screen

Hi, I'm facing an issue with Windows Security on my Windows 11 PC. When I open the app, it shows a completely blank screen — none of the sections like Virus & Threat Protection, Firewall, or App & Browser Control are visible.

I have already tried the following steps:

Restarted my PC multiple times

Repaired and reset the Windows Security app via Settings > Apps

Checked Windows Security Service in services.msc and confirmed it's running

The problem started after I downloaded a game from an untrusted source, so I suspect something may have changed system settings or disabled some components.

There are no specific error messages, just a blank screen in the Windows Security interface.

System Info:

Windows 11 [Include build number if known – e.g., 22H2, Build 22621]

No third-party antivirus installed

Only using built-in Windows Defender

Please help me fix this issue or suggest further troubleshooting steps. Thank you!

From what you said, you have done the basics right, but when the app shows a blank screen, it is usually due to some damaged system files or problems with the app itself.

I recommend:

1. Open Command Prompt as administrator:

- Click the Windows search bar (next to the Start button) and type cmd.

- When Command Prompt appears in the results, right-click it and select Run as administrator.

- If prompted by User Account Control, click Yes.

2. Run this command to repair system files:

sfc /scannow

3. When it finishes, copy and paste this next command to repair the Windows image:

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

4. Restart your PC and try Windows Security again.

This usually fixes corruption issues that cause the blank screen.

I not even sure that it's the preview program at all. My screen now loads up to a blank black screen after the my games and apps logo repeatedly pops up and disappears till it finally disappears completely to a blank black screen. It only shows the logo
and none of my games and it also showed me sign in.

For me, I can stream for like 1 minute only then the screen went totally blank on Xbox App on Windows.

I am using Windows 11 Xbox App and Xbox One X console.

I can't watch nearly all clips in activity feed and in the upload app. It just shows a blank screen or a loading circle.

If you’re trying to launch a game and get a blank or black screen after the cloud gaming loading animation:

Check to see if there are any available updates to the Xbox app for Windows, select Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update , and then select Check for updates. Disconnect and reconnect to the network, then try launching the game again.
