Windows PC - Play To ..... Great Feature

Anyone used this feature?

I was trying to use it the other night but found the videos I was playing had voice and picture slightly out of sync. Wondered if anyone had this running, knew it existed and it works as it shoud.

You can Play To with you music library too.



You just right click the file on your PC and choose Play To > Your Xbox One

XBOX ONE Media Player no longer finds music on network

Further Info. PC running Windows 7 Home Premium. Music folder is shared the same as pictures and video folders. I am able to use play to feature on windows media player on pc to play music on the xbox one.

No, you cannot do this.

However, you can stream music from your PC using the PlayTo feature in Windows Media Player.

 

Unfortunately my PC running W8.1 does not give the play to option, however my W7 PC does. Bit strange really.

 

I'm also on 8.1, some video file do work with Playto. BUT, its only certain files which is pants. I've given up streaming to Xbox one and just do it straight to the tv. all formats work with no issues. Programme called "servio" if its of any help to you

Lout - I know when I upgraded to windoze 8 from 7 (discounted digital download) they were offering the media features as a free upgrade. Apparently it's now not normally included with the OS.

When on Windows 8 I've used the Play To option to send to my 360.

It's an interesting feature but much easier to just pull the media using the system video player on the console.

The One's inability to do that is one of the reasons I've not bought one yet.

 

And as if by magic the Play To feature has just started working on my W8 machine.

I think it's fair to say the media capabilities need a bit more work...

 

FitsHisFace, just bare in mind that I stream directly to the TV, ( Samsung smart ) although If I remember rightly the 360 will pick it up ( got rid of mine to fund the xbox one ) If u need any help, feel free to message me

Also Majikthise, I got that free update on windows 8, but it uses a very limited number of video formats. so its pretty much pointless

 

I have a SMART TV, just bought last week. Maybe I could stream direct. Can have a play around this weekend
