    Windows Media Center Channel changing issue


    I am having an issue setting up windows media center on my computer. I am running windows 7 ultimate and have set up an xbox 360 as an extender in another room.

    I have been trying repeatedly to get this set up and keep coming up with the same result. I get to see the channels that I receive through a set top box from Comcast, which is an HD/DVR also. I get to see my channels the way that I ought to on my WMC guide
    but cannot change them, either through the remote on my PC nor on my xbox 360 in the other room.

    I can view the channel that my set top box is set to but have to change that via my STB remote from Comcast and therefore if I am in the back room and I want to see another channel then I have to come out to the living room area and change the channel which
    defeats my whole purpose of having an extender in the first place.

    The Hd/DVR is a Motorola and I have tried the set up in WMC and nothing seems to work.

    The channel that I am viewing via the xbox 360 is perfect with no other issues than not being able to change the channel.

    The guide shows me the channel that I want to be changing to and gives me an updated guide view but it is the screen itself that just remains on the STB channel.

    Xbox One and Media Center with Local HD channels

    You can work around the issue by changing the channel numbers in Media Center from 6.1 and 3.1 to 6.0 and 3.0 then it will work.

    Xbox One not changing channel / direction buttons dont work on Windows Media Center PC. I see the the IR receiver for WMC PC lights up, but nothing happens. The commands to start TV with voice also do not work (though the channels do appear
    on the right and in the guide).

    The WMC PC is Windows 7 Ultimate.

    How to add missing channels?

    The hiding of duplicate channels is not the problem, there are channels that are just missing. With no way to manually add them. The One Guide team need to review the Guide from Windows Media Center, it is superior in a number of ways.

    I have a Windows 7 media center PC set up with my Xbox One. While it works in terms of feeding the TV into the Xbox One video app, the "integration" doesn't really work well. Effectively, for me, the OneGuide is pretty useless since Media Center needs to
    be on live TV for the channel changing capabilities to work. If it's on any other screen (start, recorded TV, guide, etc.) it won't change the channel properly.

    I'm just treating the media center as its own "app" and when I'm watching live TV I pick up my Harmony remote. Then I use voice or xbox controller to switch to other apps, etc. within the Xbox One.

    IR port and windows media center extender function. I use an old media center remote with my xbox 360s. The controller is awful for navigating the TV guide and changing channels, and kinect is a terrible idea for TV navigation with 2 kids running around
    the house.

    As a bonus, I would expect it to support DTCP-IP for protected DLNA streaming as well, like the PS3 already does.
