Windows frame cap on games

I usually play games like Valorant and Fortnite on my pc usually averaging 100+ frames but yesterday while in a game of Valorant my frames wouldnt go higher that 50 and the same thing happened with Fortnite. Ive tried everything and i cant play someone please help me!

Perhaps some recent driver for your video card may have caused this. Try reinstalling or installing the older version.

Third-party programs/services/antiviruses may also be causing this. I recommend disabling as many of these programs as possible, doing a clean boot, and testing again.

Also as the game updates, it tends to have improved graphics and features that may be impacting performance.

what refresh rate have you got the display set to on the pc.

ive changed to the correct frame rate and even then im still not getting as many frames as i used to, before i averaged a little over 100 and now i wont go above 70

Check your monitor's frame rate and if vsync is on, if vsync is on the frame rate will be limited to your monitor's refresh rate.

Console game frame rates are capped for hardware optimisation.
