Windows error 0x87e00017 when downloading games.

I recently bought the Xbox game pass for the sole reason of downloading Age of Empires IV, however whenever i try to download it through either the Microsoft Store or the XBOX app I always get the same error, 0x87e00017.

Ive tried everything that ive found online regarding this error, including resetting both apps and clearing the windows store cache. Does anyone have any more ideas. This is the first time ive used either of these apps and its really frustrating.

Sadly neither of those methods seems to have fixed the issue.

I also tried switching to a different network but that didn't help either. I read online that for some people it had something to do with the "WindowsApps" folder where the games are installed and the permissions of this folder, do you happen to know anything about that?

First try to re-register the Microsoft Store

- Press Windows + X keys together and click on Windows PowerShell (Admin).

- Now type in the command and hit Enter: Get-AppXPackage *WindowsStore* -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\\AppXManifest.xml”}

- Restart the PC.

If that fails, try to disable Proxy Server:

First check if proxy server is enabled;

- Press Windows logo key + I, to open Settings.

- Click on Network & Internet and select Proxy from the left pane.

- Under Automatic proxy setup, toggle the switch to On for Automatically detect settings.

- Now, under Manual proxy setup, toggle the switch to Off for Use a proxy server

Unfortunately I have no idea about that. You can try this though;

Open Powershell in admin mode and paste the following, which I believe reinstalls the default apps on Windows 10.

Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers| Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}

That gave me a wall of errors so i thought it might be a problems with my windows install so i did an in place repair. Still doesnt work, im just gonna give up.
