  1. Windows Defender no Xbox One

[Translation - I accessed a virus-threatening website from my Xbox One console, if they opened random pages with unknown content, typical behavior of when you enter an unsafe site, can someone tell me if Windows Defender SmartScreen defended or defends
my Browser against this kind of threat?]

    :)

Windows 8 XBOX Music Fails with Error Code 0xc101008e

I'm having the same problem with Windows 8 64-bit. Other computers on the network are running Xbox Music just fine.

I tried turning off Windows Defender; no luck. I also turned off Windows Firewall and still no luck.

  3. Adera on Window 8 on Microsoft Surface

Ok, so how do I disable the antivirus on the surface? (Windows Defender) I have Windows Defender open and nowhere does it say anything about being able to disable it. No boxes to uncheck...nothing. Just says it is active

All of the software on the Xbox One is certified by Microsoft, so it won't
have any viruses on it, so there is no reason for there to be an anti-virus. ... There's no
need, Microsoft certifies all software on their console, so it would be scanned already before it's put on

  6. Hey there Kaue!

Thanks for bringing this issue to our attention, however it is very unlikely that the console has gotten any viruses on it from you accessing that problematic site. The console can only update it's software with Microsoft updates or apps, otherwise no other
applications (such as viruses) should be able to affect it.

More than likely, you had a bunch of pop up windows come up as what we call "Malicious Tabs" (tabs that keep opening up another page). We have information on how to deal with them here on our support page entitled

How to close malicious tabs in Microsoft Edge on Xbox One
    .

On the off chance that your console has been acting weird after dealing with said malicious tabs, then I would recommend a soft reset of your console following the steps outlined on our other support page entitled

How to reset your console to factory defaults on Xbox One
. It's a reset of your console back to factory settings but one that does not uninstall any of your games or apps and is a really good troubleshooting
    step for most issues.

Just make sure that before you go ahead with it, that you do know all of the sign-in information for any/all of your accounts(asthey
will be removed) and have easy access to your internet network.

Also make sure that you select the option denoted
reset and keep my games and apps.

Give those steps a shot as appropriate, and let us know how they worked for you

    Thanks!

    Hi

The operating system on the Xbox One works slightly differently to Windows 10 and does not require Windows Defender.
