Windows Azure: The power behind upcoming game Titanfall for the Xbox One

My god Sony will be just fine without TitanFall.

The only thing significant I can see that the use of Azure does is offer dedicated servers which we know there are many options for considering they are said to free on X1 but nobody else is using them?

All the other things remain to be seen what exactly is it going to do for the ai or anything else in the game that couldn't be done localy or on any other dedicated server. EA has there own servers they could just use there own servers for a PS4 release.

  3. I'm sorry I don't want to drag this on any further guys, there is something I still don't understand. I was trying to say that the game could technically run on PS4 because I think Ghost wrote somewhere that it would be impossible. I did a quick search and
apparently Windows Azure is a service that is compatible with Microsoft based systems and third party software/hardware. I see that some of you agreed but then argued that Microsoft wouldn't allow Sony users to play on the servers because PS4 is a competitor
console. Good argument! But can someone explain why the PC version is being hosted through Microsoft's Azure servers then? The last time I checked Microsoft wants nothing to do with PC gaming any longer. They discontinued their Windows Live platform. Titanfall
is supposed to be a system seller for the Xbox One. Don't you guys think Microsoft would have held back this tech exclusive for the Xbox One? [I want to know what you guys think I'll be back later.]

  7. Microsoft and Sony have collaborated on PC o/s and they are in talks about windows phone on sony handsets, if mr Elop decided to increase profit margins he might consider it, the only bad blood between the companies is the fanboys, business is business at

Ah but your talking a software hardware agreement with the phone and PCS. In the case of consoles both are trying to sell hardware and lots of them. As friendly as they be in other areas I'm sure they wouldn't say sure you can run a PS4 on our servers. This
would as it stands with the " resolution situation" mean more may buy a ps4 instead of a X1. Just my ramblings and thoughts though.

I am sure Sony can run a game like Titanfall off of their servers... BUT... Sony does not own or rent enough servers to make the game run with a ping most of the people had.. I had a 17ms Ping... and a 34Ms with a high of 160Ms on the furthest server...even
if they could get enough servers... would they be linked and synced like Azure? probably not... if they could get enough... have them all linked... give people a sub 100 ping... the cost would be so much... it would not be worth it... there is an article
out there that someone mentioned about Respawn going to both and saying.. this is what we want and this is what we need...Sony said... we cant do that... NO... MS came back, opened the door to their server system.. and said.. something like this? and here
    we are....

Even though I own and enjoy both consoles but in "my" opinion this is where Sony are always behind Microsoft, online, servers etc so I very much doubt Microsoft would give Sony a helping hand here.

"LMAO @Stranger. Microsoft has no incentive to pay anyone when they have a buttload of their own servers."

Read back though the post, my point was MS letting Sony use Azure is as likely as Sony letting MS use Gataika.

The developer Respawn is paying for server usage not Sony. And to answer your question I think so, after all it's a service they are trying to sell.
