Windows 8 and Xbox Live Accounts

Hi all, I'm trying to find a solution to my problem. I have two accounts;

An old blueyonder.co.uk account which has been linked to my gamer tag since forever. The email address has been shut down for years so I added my gmail account as a contact email, it works but now I want a little more.

I have my windows 8 log in which is linked to my gmail account, my one drive (which I use for my phone and my PC's at home and at work). It's kinda central to almost everything I do online, except for my xbox live account. Ironically this is the contact
email address I'm currently using for my xbox live account.

in other words my xbox logs me in as my blueyonder account, but emails me using my gmail account.

I don't want to lose my gamer tag, my history, but if don't want to lose my gmail account either.

i need he two linking properly so I can see my xbox live account on my windows 8 log in, and my onedrive account and email on my xbox one.

what can I do to make this happen?

XBox Live / Music on Windows 8

We have Xbox Live and Music connected to one account, I want to be able to use Xbox music and Xbox Smartglass on Windows 8 - but by logging into my own individual microsoft account.

Essentially, my login is separate from my windows 8 login. I want to just go to Xbox music within Windows 8 and login to the account that has those services online.

Disregard my last post as creating new windows 8 account is not necessary.

First convert your windows 8 account into an offline account.

then convert it to an online account again using your xbox live login details. This will effectively let you change the live id associated with your windows 8 account without waiting 30 days.

To convert to an offline account fist go to the windows 8 start screen the move mouse cursor to top right of screen. Select change PC settings then select Users. You can now select switch to a local account which will unlink the Microsoft account currently
associated with your windows 8 account.

After doing this you can then switch back to an online account this time using your xbox live login details.

You would need to change your Xbox's main email to the G Mail account you're using.

What I have done in the past to accomplish this was contacting an Xbox Support agent
here.

Hi, You can use the same xbox live account on Windows 8, Windows 10, Xbox One, Xbox 360 & Windows Phone 8/10. You do not have to create a different one for each device.

But if my current Windows Live account is linked to this generic "User1234567" Xbox live account they made for me, won't it still be linked to that Xbox Live account when I go to re-set Windows 8 to a Windows Live login instead of a local login?

What I need to know how to do is de-link this Xbox Live account from my Windows Live account and re-link a different Xbox Live account to it instead.

Hi Nevyn! That is a weird issue. Are you seeing this old pic as your Windows 8 account picture, or in the Games app for Xbox LIVE? If it is your Win8 account picture, that is not tied to your Xbox LIVE profile picture, but instead your Microsoft Account
picture, which you can change at live.com, as well as in Preferences of Windows 8.

All of the apps on your Windows 8 machine will use whatever account is used to sign into the computer. You will want to logout of the account you're currently using and then log into Windows 8 using the account that is associated with your Xbox Live account.
Then, when you launch the game, it will automatically log you into your Xbox Live account.
