Can someone tell me how to STOP the screenshot feature from creating JXR files?

Every scrennshot that i take gets a duplicated washed out JXR image and a PNG image. I just want 1 image of each screeenshot that i take, why on earth would Microsoft do this at all.

The regular Print-Screen feature doesnt do this but for some reason the XBOX controller screenshot feature (Windos+Alt+PrntScrn) that we use while gaming does this.

The Xbox Elite controller… not sure how that makes any difference.

Hello ZMaura, this has to do with the depth of the image, the more values the more depth in the image relative to the colors it will display.

Hello again, this is a good question but I don't think I know and I don't know if you'll find the answer, because this type of algorithm is proprietary and companies usually don't disclose that.

Companies like Adobe, Apple, DJI, Canon, Nikon etc. have their own algorithms to make the image .jpg, . Mpg etc formats are standart of the defined by the Independent JPEG Group, you can find on the internet the original code that was made in 1991 for free, however companies later developed their own algorithm and this becomes intellectual property of each of them.

Thank you for the link but this is not what I'm looking for.
My question is specific to the algorithm that Windows uses to tone-map the JPEG XR image to PNG image.
I suppose the JPEG XR is defined in a wide color gamut (eg BT2020) with a PQ transfer function while the PNG is the result of a conversion from PQ to gamma transfer function in a smaller color gamut (eg sRGB).

How this conversion is done by Windows ?
