    I am unable to hear the static but for everyone else in the xbox party there is a constant loud buzzing. Ive tried changing to 96000Hz but that did not fix it

    have you tried making sure the headset is plugged in correctly and that theres no tears or damage to the mic or headset

    I would also suggest cleaning the headphone jack with some rubbing alcohol. Dust is also a main culprit in causing humming and static noises. Also check the port on your PC/Laptop

    There was an issue with having a controller plugged in with the play and charge kit (so it's charging) that caused everyone to hear a buzzing noise if a headset was also plugged in to the controller.

    Could this be it?

    Hi There,

    It sounds like it may be your mic causing the static noise, do you perhaps have another headset or mic you can try to find out if it is the issue?

    Party App isn't functioning correctly

    This is a joke, constant party app crashes and not able to hear everyone. Why did they change something that worked perfectly fine the way it was? Never had anywhere near the amount of problems with Xbox live party chat on 360. Windows 8 interface is terrible.
