Windows 10 Xbox One Streaming microphone not detected?

I've recently set up my PC and Xbox One for streaming to my PC using the Xbox App. It works great with only minor hiccups (like large lag when getting an achievement). However one issue I am having is my microphone connected to the PC is not being picked
    up by the Xbox One.

I've searched the issue in order to troubleshoot but after making sure my mic is set as the default device the issue persists. Any help or input on the issue would be great.

    :)

Bug: Microphone doesn't work after disconnecting Windows 10 streaming

    Thank you Bestlano!

Another issue I'm running into with the headset adapter + windows 10 streaming:

I docked my surface pro 2 into the docking station, which has a wired PC microphone plugged in. When I start playing (Rainbow Six Siege), the game audio is coming through my headset adapter (via the Xbos Stereo Headset), but the Windows 10 Xbox app is utilizing
my wired PC microphone instead of the Stereo Headset/Headset Adapter. I can't figure out a way to force the streaming app to use the microphone plugged into my controller...

(not sure if I should document this issue in another thread)

It seems there may be some minor issues between the Windows 10 Xbox streaming application when used with the Xbox Headset Adapter.

Headset chat not working when streaming to pc

When streaming to PC you may have to use the integrated chat inside using the Xbox app in windows 10. This includes you having to directly use a microphone of your choice that compatible with your system running Windows 10.

    Hi,

If the Xbox One console doesn't detect the headset you're using, this may be due to hardware compatibility issues. Let's isolate your concern by answering the following questions:

    • Where did you purchase the headset?
    • Are you connecting the headset to the console via wired or wireless?

To make sure that the headset is compatible with Xbox One, we suggest checking the package you've received when you purchased the headset. See if there's an Xbox One logo on the label.

That generic support doesn't really apply here. The problem is with a PC microphone, not an Xbox One microphone. The Xbox App on PC detects the mic and it works if I start a party via the app, but it doesn't work in any capacity on the Xbox One for parties
    or game chat.

  6. This is a well known issue and im very suprised you don't seem to know about this issue? What are you all doing over at Xbox support seriously this has been going on since the update it is not a user issue it is Xbox's side. Get it fixed damnit! Game Streaming
through a Windows 10 PC for some reason DOES NOT ALLOW THE MIC TO WORK ANYMORE LIKE IT USED TO! FIGURE IT OUT AND GET THIS FIXED!

  7. To further isolate your concern, may we know if you're using an external microphone or the Windows 10 built-in microphone?

In the meantime, we recommend running the Windows troubleshooter for playing sounds. See

    USB Microphone Compatibility

As there is a standard for webcams introduced in Windows 10, most "off the shelf" cameras that are certified for Windows 10 will work with Xbox One as a replacement for the camera part of Kinect for streaming.

However, for USB microphones, there is no such standard yet, and therefore, Microsoft can't add multiple different drivers for USB microphones, as it makes no sense to add a driver for multiple types of Microphones.

So either get a microphone that has a 3.5mm jack and put that into the controller (with an adapter to convert the Microphone jack to a CTIA compliant jack if necessary), or set up your stream to go through your PC and use the Microphone on your PC to add
    your voice to the stream.
