Windows 10 Xbox Live App

After the update night before last I've been unable to open my Xbox live and I don't get an error message. I have checked and have the latest version, I have logged out of my Microsoft a/c and set up a local account and then logged back into Microsoft.
I've tried starting and restarting, basically for the last 48 hours I've tried pretty much everything I've found in various forums. When I click the app it just blinks and nothing happens. Everything was fine until the last update and now I cannot get in.
I know things are working because my wordament and solitaire games have separate icons and I can play both of those games.

Can anyone help me? (please)

Can the Windows Store verify an existing installation of game(s) downloaded previously or from files from another computer? Similar to Steam et al

Thanks for the reply! Unfortunately, you will need to click the install to download any digital content for PC.

If you have a Windows 10 device, you can now use the Xbox app to connect to the Xbox Live service.

If you have Windows 10 there actually is no need for the Windows Live app anymore. That app is to play games on Xbox Live if you had any of the earlier versions, like Windows 8.1 or Windows 8.

Windows 10 has the Xbox App programed into the operating system and that's how you link your computer with the Xbox Live Services. You just simply sign into your account there and the computer is now linked.

Greetings Summer, With some many apps out there, I just want to confirm the issue your having is with the Xbox App failing to sign in, correct? If the issue is with the Xbox App, please try reproducing the issue by trying the Xbox App (Beta) this is running
the latest version of the app. You can DL it located here:
www.microsoft.com/.../9NBLGGH1J27H. If the issue occurs again, immediately report the issue by clicking the happy face and using the "Report a problem". This will generate a report and provide helpful data to the developers to investigate. If they have
further questions I will contact you.

Hi there, thanks for answering my post, the issue is with the Xbox App failing to sign in. It shows my gamer tag, and like I mentioned previously both my direct link to wordament and solitaire are working. When I click on the Live Xbox tile it just blinks
(I don’t get an error message or anything) and that’s it. I tried loading the Xbox beta app but it does the same thing....?

hi again, I had tried all of these except the delete cache & account folders, which I just did and it didn't work. Really not sure what else I can do??

 

Just one thing happened, I had my solitaire open and it said I needed to sign back into play, but when I clicked to go out it just popped back up again with my SoSoSummer tag. When I click on the icon next to my gamer tag (you know the big round circle
at the right hand top) it says "You'll need a new app to open this xbox" however, I found that yesterday and went into the store, I confirmed I had the current version, and that's when I tried downloading the beta version (which didn't work either)...?

 

Hi Summer, Sorry to hear the issue wasn't resolved with the troubleshooting tips the developers provided. At this point I will need to gather as much info to request further investigation. What will be of great help if possible (since your unable to sign
in) is if you can report this issue using the "Report a problem' in the beta app. What this does is gather helpful data and send it to the developers for investigation. You can add additional info before hitting the submit by including the App version number
and repro steps so we can duplicate the experience. Let us know if your able to do this or not. In the mean-time I will call this out in our reports today for review.

I have pretty much the same issue but the only thing which looks odd on my installation is that when I look at the log for the update carried out i have a list of something like 6 or 7 repetitions of the Micrsoft C++ redsitributable all at the same date,
all the same patch number. Very odd - I am about to try the beta version of Xbox - my current version is 14.14.15008.00000. No other updates are outstanding.

 

SOrry wrong version number should be 14.14.16008

Also can´t log in to Store so I can´t even try to get the beta version :-(

 

Hi Best, On the weekend I purchased a pc cleanup tool from reimage and ran it. That actually allowed me to get into the store, however, not actually do anything except 'open' games I had previously downloaded. There were 16 or so "updates" showing in
the dropdown list which were all failing to load. Unfortunately, the reimage software conflicted with my Norton, so Norton on-line tech unloaded and reinstalled my anti-virus and deleted the reimage product. Now the Beta version is no longer showing in my
menu, and I'm unable to download. While I was in the store I was able to open a few of the games I've been playing and pin them to my task bar, and for some reason they are accessible this way. The problem continues and I honestly don't know what to do.

Best, Just one other note, I attempted (again) to download the beta in the store, and there is a list of 15 apps showing in the dropdown list that failed to update when I clicked on the error detail it says "the error code is 0x80070490, in case you need
it" (ps beta isn't even showing in the download list)

 

Was able to find beta version, but download is having same problem another error code

 

Thanks Summer for the update. Error 80070490 occurs when you use Xbox Live or Movies & TV. This may mean that you need to either delete and recover your Gamertag and clear your cache, or free up space on your hard drive.

When you used the beta version, were you still not able to sign in to the app? Or, did it sign in but your just not able to access the store? Was the new error you observed any of the following: error
0x409 and 0xbba?
